Beware of Comcast

I got rid of Comcast back in Dec. They were BAD! Thank god ATT Uverse came in to our area. More channels less money! And the few times Ive had to talk to them on the phone they have been extremely nice.

I wish we had WOW here. That is who we had when we lived in MI and never had any problems. Here it's comcast or now AT&T which I know nothing about but I don't care because anything is better than comcast at this point.

Having used both....

In a year, you will be back with "beware of AT&T" My AT&T service is actually WORSE! (yes, I realize that's hard to believe, but....) And they are sticklers for contacts!

I dislike both of them.

However, in thier defense....

If you keep trying to get the "new promotional" rate don't be surprised if at some point they just say NO and you have to change.
 
U-verse will be installed on the 4th. When I called Comcast to put in the disconnect date, they were offering me all kinds of stuff to stay...sorry, too late! I'm so done with you! There was no contract for U-verse. Plus they ended up being a little cheaper than Comcast for everything and you get more.;)

If they charged reasonable rates and stopped with the "tickler" rates, people wouldn't have to keep calling to get a better rate in 6 months. They tell you to call back and get the next promo when the current one is up. My Cable went from $59 to $98. I don't have anything fancy and I'm sorry, but I'm tired of playing their games!

Me too. Comcast doesn't seem to value their current customers--only new ones they may get (who are often former customers). I think a better business model would be to provide a great product and good service at a reasonable rate. The yoyoing makes longer term customers dissatisfied.
 
My contract with Comcast (land line and cable modem) was expiring next week. They sent a post card and left a phone message stating that my rate was expiring and I needed to call them. So I called. First I listened to their annoying advertising during a 15 minute wait. Then the representative spent a half hour trying to talk me into more cable tv service. I kept explaining that my cable tv is with comcast but is through the condo association and included in my assessments. He just kept trying to get me to sign up for more channels. I was very insistent that all I wanted was the exact same thing that I already had. So he said, that will be $99.92 -- I said, no thank you - it was $62.92 and that is all I am willing to pay. He argued with me and I finally said, cancel me and I will go to Verizon. He argued some more that Verzion was slower internet and I said I didd not care, I was not going to pay almost double the rate I currently had and just to cancel me. After a few more minutes of my saying no, I just want exactly what I had, a supervisor came on and said if I would re-up for another year, I could have exactly what I had before. Finally, but it took 45 minutes including the wait time and I must have said "NO" about 25 times to all the offers for expanding my services.
