BEWARE OF BRAZILIANS~tour groups that is!Just back from AllStar Movies.....

We saw the groups everywhere last week. They only bothered me when they chanted loudly before shows. I was with four other people. We stood across a row and when they tried to cut, firmly told them to stay in line. They seemed to be like any other teenage groups with few chaperones. The only difference- they were everywhere.

I would like to thank you all for warning me about the BRAZILIAN TEEN TOUR GROUPS that knock over the diabled and assult small children. I am happy to learn about the good fortune that my 2 blond haired blued sons will bring others. I HATE people that feel they are superior and feel the need to correct other peoples beliefs and experiences. Dipin do you think that you could have just said "gee sorry to hear about your expereince, I have never witnessed that while living in Brazil". I will be on the look out for the BRAZILIAM TEENS and I will avaoid them at all costs!!!!! Thank you all for alerting me

I am sure most Americans wouldn't want to be grouped with the hordes of American teens that descend upon Brazil, Mexico, and the Caribbean in that time honored tradition that is called "spring break."

Because I guarantee this: nothing any Brazilian tour group has ever gotten away with at Disney ever compares to regular American "spring breaker" behavior.

To play devil's advocate,

the rest of the world DOES group all Americans together when they complain about the average American's lack of respect/consideration when visiting other countries.

i think it boils down to the old adage, "when in rome..". when americans don't behave in a culturally-acceptable manner in other countries, we get called out for it. and when a foreign tour group comes to disney world (which is in america) and doesn't behave in a culturally-acceptable manner, they're going to get called out for it.

And it is functional illiteracy that drives ME nuts. Where did I ever deny that Latin American tour groups can be troublesome? Please, go find it.

My problem was solely with the posters who from then on went to generalize to Latin Americans in general, and in every setting.

By the way, do a couple of searches on pop warner and cheerleader on this very board and let me know how would you like it if all of the sudden people were talking about all Americans that way.

Political correctness sucks, until it is your group being stereotyped.

It's amazing how we all see the same Latin American groups (notice i didn't say Brazil, don't want to offend anyone) yet you seem blind to it and really are more concerned about bashing those evil Americans...because they are just as bad....and because they are just as bad, we can't say anything about these tour groups.

Once again, I'll call it as I see it, Latin Americans acting bad...I'll call them out, white Americans acting bad, I'll call them out too....

I understand this completely. While in Brazil I end up being grouped up with all the Americans and "gringos" and while here I tend to be treated like the foreigner.

This is not the first or even second thread about these tour groups. There seems to be a lot of unhappy people when these groups show up at the parks. Disney needs to address this issue.

I didnt call you illiterate. I called you functionally illiterate. Functional illiteracy is when you can read the words but fail to understand the sentences. And I am sorry, but this applies exactly to you. Because here you go again, claiming I am somehow defending these tour groups or saying that they dont do these things. But go back and read the thread. And I mean really read it, don't just say the words out loud.

Where did I ever say that these tour groups are not that bad? Where did I ever turn a blind eye to their abuses or rudeness? Please, go ahead and read every single sentence of every single post I wrote. I even said that I avoid them as well. If you cannot understand this, then yes, you are functionally illiterate.

I wish Disney would do something about them (and other teen groups) as well. But, despite popular perception, Disney not only knows about a lot of this behavior, but actually encourages it.

I taught English as a second language in Brazil for a while when I was younger. One of these schools actually organized these trips for their students. Everything is booked through disney itself, and a lot of stuff, such as the guides getting the fastpasses for everyone at the same time, is actually recommended by disney. Part of the turning the blind eye is that, well, there is a lot of money involved. But part is that, however troublesome a large group of teenagers are, it is still easier to deal with them as a group than to deal with them scattered throughout the park, especially when there are no legal guardians around, or even within the country.

Functionally illiterate? No, I know exactly where you are going and what you are attempting to subtly say. You are being passive in every form, and I'm just seeing through it and calling you out. You are actually quite good at it, because as soon as someone gets to close to the truth behind what you mean, you can turn it around and say 'hey look at my words, I didn't EXACTLY say that' this may be true, but anyone with half a brain and read between your lines. It's a fairly old and tired PC argument.

Everyone on here knows what you are defending and what you are attempting to say. Basically, don't lump all Brazilians into the same group. Fine, no one said that ALL Brazilians act the same way, but we are all saying, based upon our experience, that these groups are rowdy and yet, you can't bring yourself to agree with it, yet, I'm guessing that you probably have seen this yourself before. It goes against your very ideology to classify anyone in this manner, yet you are torn, because you know that all the people on here are telling the truth. Am I close? I appreciate information like this that can help me plan my vacation.

For instance, friends recently told me they were going to WDW for Thanksgiving thinking that it would be a very slow time of year, after all who would go to WDW for Thanksgiving?. I very regretfully informed her that EVERYONE on the planet seems to and that it is a very busy time of year.

I know that this isn't exactly the same thing, but I would just rather tell me that the week I've chosen will be busy and maybe really hectic for whatever reason.

As others have said, God bless those cheerleaders but I don't want to end up at WDW with all of them again, and I think I've heard enough evidence to conclude that it is wise to avoid WDW when the Brazilians tour groups are there. No offense, Brazilians! I'm just being practical. I don't think the park is big enough for the 2 of us!!!
