Better use of 2 TS Credits: Cinderella's Royal Table or The Brown Derby?

Just out of curiosity...it will be me, my brother, my mom, and grand mom coming along. We will be staying at the GF for two nights before we go on a Disney Cruise. Which do you think would be nicer to take them to? We would either have breakfast at The Royal Table before our Magic Kingdom day or dinner at the Brown Derby before Fantasmic! We are on the DxDDP. If we don't do Brown Derby we will have dinner at Mama Melrose and if we don't do the Royal Table we would probably have breakfast at The Crystal Palace. My grand mother has never been before, she's wary of going, and I just want to make sure she has the best time possible.

CRT - so-so food in a stunning setting that can't be duplicated outside of an authentic castle.

HBD - well-prepared dishes in a so-so setting emulating the '40's and '50's glory days of Hollywood.

If you want to eat in the Castle, CRT.

If you want a delicious, varied menu, HBD.

In a perfect world, they'd offer V&A's food in the Castle. Sigh. Maybe some day... for a TiW experience...

If you care about the quality of your food (odd for a restaurant I know) go with the Brown Derby. If you are more interested in the unique experience of eating in the castle I'd go with CRT.

If you don't have any little children (daughters especially) the Brown Derby. Food at CRT is mediocre at best.

I guess it just comes down to how bad do you want to see the inside of the castle?

I have to agree with the others. Food at the Castle is mediocre but the atmosphere is great. The Brown Derby has some of the best food I've eaten at Disney. With no young children I think I would pick the Brown Derby.

I think since you have no children, the Brown Derby would be better.

The atmosphere is not Mickey Disney but it is Disney in that they strive to make sure it is as close to authentic as they can get. It is a very good meal- my DH and I went at 3:30PM for the F! Package (this is Spring Break April 2010) and we were not rushed and our server was knowledgable, attentive, and very helpful- not to mention extremely good-looking, as was evident when he walked by and all the ladies in the place sighed . Needless to say, due to his diligence in service and flashing those beautiful teeth, he got a well-deserved tip from me, as DH rolled his eyes and laughed it off (it was my bday that day)- but I digress....

It was delicious, properly cooked, and a large variety. The dessert was delicious, the wine pairing superb, and the lamb I had was perfecto!!! The salads were crisp and fresh- HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. Next to Jiko's, it is probably my favorite!
