Would it be better to rent a car at the Disney Car Care Center or the Airport???
Thanks

In general it is always better to rent at the airport, it is seldom cheaper and certainly much more of a pain to do it on site.

Please define "better". What are you looking for? Do you need a car for the whole stay (how long)? Or do you only want one for a day or two?

At any rate, if you are asking about price, there are just too many variables to give firm answer. You should probably just spend a bit of time checking the various car rental web sites to see what a car would cost for the length of time you need it and compare prices renting at the airport as compared to at WDW.

I checked ALAMO website try to rent in Disney car center to avoid the 10% airport fee, but in the end all Alamo center in the city price is twice higher than airport :confused3 I don't get it

Off airport sites in "convenience" areas are often higher, it's not just Orlando. Airport rentals have a lot more competition, so the pricing can be lower even with the airport fees figured in.

We will be renting a car for one day. Picking up at Orlando Airport and dropping off at downtown disney.

For Disney trips I always do a comparison between the airport and DTD locations. I have found off site locations to be less expensive for Dollar and Budget. For National and Alamo offsite seems to be more expensive. What you also need to factor is whether getting to the offsite is convenient.

Our next trip is July 2011 and I am using Dollar. Airport rate for a minivan for 9 days is $868 (total - including fees/taxes). Renting from the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista at DTD the same minivan for 9 days is $337 (total - including fee/taxes)

Of course now I have to ride ME to the resort and then take a Disney bus to DTD and walk across the street to the Wyndham. To save $531 I'll spend the extra hour using the offsite loication

Do they have a courtesy shuttle you could get?

Really?? Lets see: I call for my pickup ride to the Car Care Center or Downtown Disney hotels, they arrive at my resort within a few minutes(10-20), short ride depending where I am staying, walk in, go to the Kiost, insert my CC and license stuff, and wham bam thank you sam, I am out the door in under 5 minutes with the car. All while watching others go to the counter and wait.......and wait... oh you get the idea.

It may cost more at the CCC but I doubt it is any quicker, easier, etc. Oh and did I mention no traffic from airport to resort fight.

We have rented cars twice a year at the CCCenter and at hotels near Downtown Disney since 06 and it has always been easy peasy.

We will be renting our car from Dollar at airport and dropping off at 1850 HOTEL PLAZA BOULEVARD, LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL 32830. Do you know if this location offers a shuttle back to resort?

The Dollar at the Wyndham does not have a shuttle. The Wyndham does have an airport shuttle.

For me it seems to work best to take ME to the resort with the family. Our flight normally arrives 8:30am. We check in, drop our bags with Bell Services, and then walk over to get breakfast. While everyone eats I go get van.

***My guilty pleasure. This will be my last 30 minutes of solitude for the duration of the trip

The "hotel" shuttle goes to the parks and DTD. Dollar in the past has not had a shuttle. On occasion I have sweet talked them into dropping me off short distances.

A year of so ago before it became the Wyndham I rented a van from in this motel/hotel from Dollar. I was staying at Old Key West and they came and picked me up with their shuttle service. I just talked to them 407-583-8000 and yes they have shuttle pickup. I asked them if they picked up at Wilderness Lodge and they said yes.

However I am with Big Willie I too take ME to the resort and then have the rental cars pik me up, that said it might be cheaper to rent at the airport.

Moe.. thanks for the number. :)We arrive at noon and doubt our room will be ready. The plan is to get something to eat, check in, and then go buy a couple of groceries. Next day, return car.
