Better to buy AP or MYW hoppers for 12 day trip free dining trip?

We usually get new APs each Sept for our annual WDW free dining trip. Renewal APs won't work, since we go the same week each year. I could've upgraded the 1 day passes we got with our 9/10 free dining pkg when we were there, but I was distracted with family stuff & not sure it would be financially worth it for '11. Now I have the free dining pkg booked for a value resort in '11, for 12 days. Had to pay to upgrade to reg DP (normally we just pd to upgrade to DXDP), and had to have 2 day passes for each person. We will go to the park every day...maybe use the MNSSHP tickets for entrance one day. Would it be less expensive to get MYW hoppers (no water parks) for the 11-12 days, or get the 2 day tickets and upgrade to new AP on arrival, orrrrrrrr see if they will upgrade our current 1 day tickets towards new APs now? It was always nice to have the APs "just in case" we could take another trip during the year...but in several years we have never made that second trip.
