Better time and chance to rent a Grand Villa @ OKW, Early Jan or Early Dec???????????

I am in the midst of planning a family vacation to DW. I am not a DVC member but I plan or trying to rent the points and was wondering which time is better to go and which month lands me the best chance of scoring a Grand Villa for a week. Also when do the Xmas decorations get put away in the event we go in Jan? Thanks

You will need to find an OKW owner to get the 11 month advantage for either of those times (assuming you mean the very first week of January). January folks are still there from New Years and the first weeks of December are a huge draw for DVC.

If you are shooting for later in January your chances will be greater, but again, you need an OKW owner. I don't think you have any chance at either of those times at the 7 month window.

I understand about the window but I am planning in advance for Dec 08 or Jan 09 but given the windows for reservations I wanted to decide in advance to keep my options open and not wait till it was too late. Just need feedback b/c this my first time out and I'm new to the forums and renting points as well.

You may need to plan on paying a bit more per point since the member is going to have to call day by day early each day to make this reservation.

You really need to find someone with points at the 11 month window. Since the OKW Grand villas are one of the best values at WDW they fill up very fast. Like other people said you will need a DVC member willing to call day by day at the 11 month window. I sent you an PM.

From what I heard the GV seem to be a lot of extra space, if that's the case do the 2bd units fill up fast?
