and for the record...anyone can call me polymelonmom so long as they obey the rules of the melons at all times...

Ok. I know the rules for my melons, but as melonrules vary, um, what are yours? :rotfl:

So dh ends his love affair with Granny’s fanny.
Oh my lord! I always get a jolt of "the mods left *THAT* in???" when I see that word fanny and then I remember I'm on a U.S. board. It means something entirely different here you see. An entirely different part of the female anatomy and nothing to do with melons either. :lmao: I'm giggling like a pre-teen here - fanny, fanny, fanny...... hee hee

Oh listen, you need to check out the Resort Photos thread because daannzzz has posted some AMAZING photos of his/her room at POR, post 2239. I think you like!!! Just click here

Read the whole thread in the last 2 days and laughed and cried! (along with all the other readers!) Now I am afraid that anything I could create for a first trip report will pale in comparison! I am mentally preparing for writing my heart out to no audience at all...hey, I'll laugh and cry at my OWN report when it happens, but probably not as much as I did at yours! Well done, PMM!

From a fan entirely lacking in melons but with a decent pair of tangerines!

sara

I am sure your tr will be lovely!! The pics seem to help if you can figure out how to post w pics...helps move the story along and get the readers an inside view!!!

Thank you for reading!

deb

thanks for those pics....it looks GREAT but very very small compared to the Poly rooms...I have made my final decision though and ain't no turning back unless I win massive amnts of $$ some how before August

thanks again~

Jen, our first on-site was at Dixie Landings, now Port Orleans Riverside. It was awesome, we loved it. It's a beautiful resort and the kids will love the main pool. I am sure you will too. And the boat ride to DTD is really nice.

subscribing cause I'm yawning ( not at the report) and no way I'll finish tonight!

For reasons you wouldn't at all be interested in, I haven't had a chance to read your trip report for the last week. I caught up on it tonight.

I really appreciated your discussion about why you go to Disney. Frankly, I think everyone should include that in their trip report. Otherwise, who cares? I like you Momofmnm. I liked you the first time I saw your screen name. Anyone who defines herself by her children is all right in my book. It is patently obvious to us almost strangers reading these boards how much you love your kids. God bless you for that.

I'm admittedly an emotional guy. I didn't grow up in a very loving family and it's so important to me to be a loving husband to my amazing wife and a devoted father to my little girl. I pray to God that one day she tells stories to her friends (real or cyber) about her Daddy the way you wrote about yours. I pray she catches the things I work so hard to teach her and she passes them on herself. And I hope against hope that I'm creating memories for her of a Daddy who would sacrifice everthing for one more minute of her love.

It is so obvious reading your report that you love your kids with the kind of sacrificial love Jesus shows His children. I thought you were funny before and I've appreciated every kind word you've written to me about my trip report, but I gained an even deeper respect for you after reading this. God bless you, Momofmnm.

On a seemingly trivial note, I think you're going to love the PORiverside. I'm a bit of a hotel snob (although evidently not at Disney World). In my non-Disney travel, I insist on staying in 4 and 5 star properties. I've learned how to use Priceline very well. At Disney, that's not an option so I'm ok staying at the mods. I reckon it's because I don't think the deluxes are worth the money. After you stay at PORiverside, I imagine you'll see the folly in paying $320 a night for the Polynesian.

PORiverside is beautiful and there is a lot to do there for you and your family. The pool is a blast and, in our experience, it wasn't so crowded. Afterall, we were able to compete in Waterslide Olympics. The food court is really very good and the grounds of the resort are something to see. But even if you were staying at All Stars or the Days Inn it wouldn't matter. You'll be with your husband and kids whom you clearly love. The address really doesn't matter.

No, we don't get a Villa, I can only take so many people with me on vacation. We usually get a 2 bedroom. But our last trip in March was only 3 days so we got a studio at Old Key West. I did miss that big bathtub though. You know, you should pity us poor DVCers. None of our resorts have monorail access. Buses, buses, buses. That's all the give us. They're not bad though. At least I can close my eyes on the bus ride back to the resort at night. Except for the year we stayed at CBR and all the teenage cheerleaders were there too. Those girls had enough energy to run the buses without gasoline.

Back on topic, you left us hanging at Ohana.

BTW, :bday: Happy 25th

Wow.

I sat here today and have read your entire trip report and it has easily become one of my favorites!! I love your sense of humor and upbeat style. You have a beautiful family and it looks like you guys are always having a great time!

You really hit the nail on the head when you went over the "why". Your girls are going to grow up with tons of great memories and an appreciation for your dedication to them. You are definitely a role model for others to look up to.

Keep up the entertaining reports, I can't wait to read and see more!!

Wow...

thanks ZZub...yeah...I know..shhhh don't tell Steve I have a crush on Buzzton...it's our secret ;)
thank you for your very nice words...I appreciate them...

hold up folks...a new day is donning for momofmnm better known as Polymelonmom...or melons....

Seems as though I am speechless lately...and have become writing impared...aka writers block...

I think it has to do with my new trip...my old one seems happy and wonderful but has been put on the backburner so I can find us some cheap airfare and FREE dining...which I did.

I tried to write another part last night but just couldn't do it...I felt a lack of energy and that certain spunk I usually feel when writing my TR...

I think it is because today I am celebrating my last year in my 20's. Next year I will be a number that ends in 0. It is not that I think I am getting older, it is that I am getting wiser and today I have been thinking about my past, my regrets, my mistakes, my misfortunes, my heavy loads...instead of focusing on my joy, love, and happiness.

We are going through some family issues right now that I really can not talk about here or anywhere...it has to do with court, attourneys (sorry zzub) and dh's ex spouse. Although my relationship with my ex is just fine and we get along, I feel pain for some who can not see eye to eye and who can not agree for the children involved. I love my family dearly but we have issues that some families do not have obviously...and then we have the same as others....such is life.

Of course I am going to be busy this weekend celebrating my big 2..9....so I may not be writing much...

but I can always count on the DIS to cheer me up, and my dh to love me, and my kids to be my world and that is what I need to focus on now.

Thanks everyone for reading. I hope to get back to it here soon....I still have lots of pixie dust and pictures to share...

as my internet bud, Mr. "thanks for feeding my addiction" tikiman would say...

"aloha" :sunny:

oh yeah..ps ZZUB thanks for the great help with POR. I am getting very excited about it and dh is sooo happy about the price of this trip he may even reconsider his "no WDW trip in 2007" coment he made a few weeks ago... :thumbsup2

Take your time! I for one don't mind these things lasting, and maybe it'll ensure you get all the good details in.

Keep your spirits high. Mr. Zzub said it all, certainly better than I ever could.

:thumbsup2 that Dh is keeping options open for 2007!

First of all,
sign0072.gif

Comin' on over to the dark side next year, huh? Don't sweat it. It really ain't all that bad. It's just a number. What counts is how you feel inside. And I still feel 21 most days. Unless I've put in my time with the Maelstrom Track Team. And then I feel 61. :confused3

And this is for you too... :sunny:

Keep your head up, Girl. I think it's against some unwritten law to be down on your birthday. Isn't it? Go have a ball celebrating your birthday this weekend. You deserve it.

And keep writing your T/R. It really is hilarious. See, I told ya you were awesome! :teeth:

Oh, and BTW, something tells me Mel's got some competition. :lmao:

If you are refering to the one the only ZZUBBIE...all I can say is...Mel can have him....

my heart belongs to Buzzton. I like 'em weird, scary, and freaky....that dark, mysterious thing really gets me excited :teeth:
