Was wondering what you all found as the best and the worst counter service places at EPCOT? As I'm doing the Magic Your Way dining plan, was just trying to see where the good places were and where the one's I should avoid are.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The only counter servce I didn't care for was the place in front of Mexico. I tried the Chinese counter for the first time during our last trip, it was yummy.

The only place I though was horrid was the counter in Mexico (Cantina, I think?). It was a step down from Taco Bell, if even that good. Canned cheese, stale chips, greasy "beef" - ICK.

We tasted our way around in May, and really enjoyed everything else. My fave is Tangerine Cafe in Morocco, China has "mall food court" quality, as does Japan (though Japan is airconditioned so it gets extra points from me). Fish and chips are yummy in UK, but finding seating outside can be hard! The bakery in France is DELISH, though we stuck with cheese and pastries... there are more, I just can't think! =)

we loved our breakfast pockets at fountainview cafe in future world... the choc croissant was amazing as well! sooo fresh! believe it or not, that was one of our FAVE counter service meals of our entire trip last year... and we're looking forward to it again (dh made sure we did not schedule a breakfast for our epcot day just so we could go there again! LOL!)

See now my family likes the Mexican Cantina... I also like Yakitori House in japan and the counter place in China and bakery in Norway and France.

I looked at the CS menu for Tangierine. I think I could eat the CS meal there every day! You get a dessert with CS, right? So it would be baklava or other pastry? Could one of the specialty coffees be used as dessert? Is the mint tea included as a beverage? The description of CS says one non-alcoholic beverage, so does that include the specialty coffees as beverage?

I thought I'd give the UK CS place a try, since I do like fish & chips. We dined at the Sunshine Season on the last trip and was pleased, but after reading the updated menu, it looks like alot has changed. I really could not find very much that I would eat there. I never thought of the bakery in France as being counter service. I knew they had desserts, but do they have sandwiches, as well?

The best would have to be the French Bakery.mmmmm
The worst was the Character dining in the land. The food was a big disappointment but the characters were awesome.

China is where cold, greasy noodles go to die. :crazy2:
Mexico is where Velvetta nachos with cold, greasy beef go to die. :scared:

The bakery in France is good as is Tangine (sp?) Cafe in Morocco. :earsboy:

I agree. The food was really awful. It reminded me of the European Vacation Movie in which they were served frozen dinners. Adding to the ambience were the birds that were waiting to attack. There was poop on the tables, benches - everywhere. :crazy2:

Tangerine Cafe is the best with the Fish and Chips a close second.

For us the Cantina is the worst, unless you were at Jellyrolls until closing the night before and then it's the BEST.

I love the new Sunshine Seasons in the Land. They have much healthier options, plus lots of grab and go type things, like tuna salad, hummus and pita, side salads, fruit and so on.
