Best western plus stovalls inn

We stayed a while back and found it a fine place to stay. The room was pleasant and quiet. We were on the third floor at the back of the property. The walk to the parks was easy and fairly direct. We did not partake in the breakfast or pool but the pools area looked nice. We will absolutely stay there again, particularly for the price compared to locations on Harbor.

My last stay here was in December. The breakfast still included some hot items…with staff serving on your plate vs buffet. It did get busy after 7am, the closer it got to Park opening at 8am but still able to get what we wanted.

Staff was very friendly (breakfast and front desk).

Rooms seem a bit dark and older (especially the carpet), but for the price, I do like this location. Feels like a safe walk back at night (cutting through The Grand on way back to hotel), with most of the walk on Disney property.

I like the pools and patio furniture-but haven’t used them since covid.

Good luck deciding!

My last stay was in Sept 2021.

It's a good, basic hotel. It's one of my top 2 motels that I choose for my solo trips. I often pay less than $150/nite.

As I said, it's basic. Beds are fine. Clean. Staff has always been nice and accommodating. I can't remember how often they do housekeeping at this point. Separate toilet/shower area and vanity area. The AC/heat unit can be loud. It's next to the vanity, and has a remote control so you can adjust it from the bed; I didn't feel like it kept a steady temperature.

I've stayed in both buildings (east and west buildings). I always stay towards the front of the buildings.

Breakfast is adequate for starting the day. Last time was a build- your-own breakfast sandwich one day, and I think biscuits and gravy the other day. I believe I've also had French toast sticks at another stay. They also have pastries and breads, maybe cereal (can't remember since I usually take advantage of their hot breakfasts.

I used the pool on my very first stay. While I was generally okay with it, I was staying in the western building. I had to walk through a corridor through the eastern building. I felt a bit concerned that anyone could be at the outlet of the walkway, which freaked me out a bit. There was just no way to see if anyone was there. There are two pools and two hot tubs. On that first trip, there was a couple ... um... let's say they were participating in a "marital" activity, if you get my drift. I haven't used the pool or hot tub since.

The walk is fairly quick and easy. Just walk north in Disneyland Drive, turn left after Paradise Pier hotel over to Downtown Disney, and walk through the area. It will put you out at the west side of the esplanade. It takes me 15 minutes from front door to esplanade.

Edited to add: As someone else mentioned, the rooms can feel dark. It's better on the east building.

Thank you all for your replies! Great to hear that on the whole it's ok and the area is safe etc as I am a solo traveller.
I have requested a quiet room as I'm a light sleeper, however will be bringing ear plugs just in case.

As for breakfast , does anyone remember seeing different bread types i.e. did they offer wholemeal as well as white?
I can see on a picture that they have oatmeal ? (could be a really old picture )

Thanks so much :)

I won’t swear to it, but am pretty certain both white and wheat breads. I don’t recall the oatmeal in December, but it might be back now.

Just wanted to add that I was solo in December…there were always people walking back to the Westin too whenever I went back, which also helped with me feel safe (though always alert and aware).

Have a great time!!
