hi, been back ten days, looking for cheap trip to orlando next year, have had good price for best western movieland on I drive, should I go for it or not, not expecting the hilton, but want clean hotel, good pool for kids, laundry facilities to wash clothes etc. stayed in kissimmee last twice so, staying on I drive appeals to me for a change of scenery.
any advice from anyone one who has been there please?

BW Movieland is right in the middle of everything on I-Drive, you can almost walk to anywhere you want to go or take the I-trolly.

thanks kcarp, thats what I had read, would be nice to walk to a restaurant as opposed to driving everywhere in kissimmee, even have a beer or two! whats the hotel like? have you stayed there?

I ALWAYS stay at this hotel. I've been to Orlando every year or so since 1981 and since it was built (and called the Las Palmas) I've stayed here. It's clean, tidy well located and well priced. The staff are great especially the housekeeping staff . The laundry facilities are excellent.

The Best Western Movieland is a no frills hotel. It's decent and clean. It has a pool, but I didn't check it out. There is no on-site restaurant or gift shop, but you can find plenty of them on International Drive.

We just got back on friday and thought BWMovieland was ok right across the rd from W&W and a sizzler so ideal for breakfast english pub also across the rd but found the bar at the black angus restaurant which is conected to the hotel much nicer and cheeper beer :drinking1 . its easy to get to and its within walkin distance of a lot of shops, bars and resaurants. a few of the washing machines were out of order when we left but were on the cards to be repaired this week. our room was allways clean and tidy. in fact i have just been pricing up to see if we can aford to go again next year.

We are staying there in October so glad to hear it's decent - thanks for the peace of mind Bourneman! We stayed at the Wyndham Orlando last October and we had booked it because it had 3 pools and several restaurants and loads of great facilities. Well, we never ate there, we went to the pool once in a fortnight as everyday we were up and out only coming back to go to bed so we decided to go more "basic" this year as it's really only a bed for the night and as long as it's clean and comfortable it'll be fine and we'll have more money to spend in the mall! :cool1:
