Trying to put a trip for my boyfriend and myself together for the first week of November. I'd love to stay onsite, but don't think we'll be able to afford it. Expedia.com has rooms at Best Western Lakeside for $59 a night.

Already searched here, but the most recent threads I could find were from 2006. Anybody stayed there recently? My main priority is cleanliness. Not really worried about size or things to do at the hotel itself since we plan on being at the parks (WDW only) every day.

What do you guys think?

I am interested in hearing about this hotel, too. Hotwire has it during the week I want to vacation at $34/night. I think I'll go ahead and book it, but I'd like to hear about how DISers liked it.

There are several good recent reviews on the TripAdvisor website.

I stayed at Best Western Lakeside last October and will be returning this October. My family had no complaints. It was clean and met our needs. We would usually spend all day at the park and just use the room to sleep. I think the beds were comfortable but after spending all day running through the parks I probably could have fallen asleep on a bench and be happy:rotfl2: .

I wanted to stay on-site too but I can't justify spending the money on a value resort when I can go to the Best Western Lakeside and have more space and a fridge in my room too. There is a walgreens that is right by the motel that we would go to frequently too.

The motel isn't the fanciest place but it is clean and economical for us. I would rather spend my money on souvenir's or a longer stay rather than spending money on a room where I will only be spending a few hours actually awake in.

Thank you! That's pretty much what I'm looking for, clean and economical. We're going to be hitting the parks pretty hard and my boyfriend agreed that where ever we stay is pretty much just going to be a place to sleep and it doesn't have to be fancy.

Any other opinions out there?

I called the hotel directly and the quote I was given was a pool view for 69.99 and a parking lot view for 59.99. I was also wanting info on this place we were needing it for one night in August until we could check in at POP but one person posted that the property had went down but from the web siite it looked really nice. We want to make sure the place is clean and in a safe area all the extra frills we do not care for it is for only one night.

If anyone has any recent news please post

Thanks

I stayed 1 week in July 2007 and I think the hotel is great because is clean, safe and not expensive. The room has a fridge, free internet and in the tv there's a 24 hr channel with Stacy :rotfl2: so you can pretend that you are on-site.

There's many restaurants around and you are at wdw in 5 minutes.

I love this hotel. It is clean and great. There are many more amenities then a Disney value! It is very close to Disney and their free shuttle are adequate!

Can't wait to stay agin this December..

Just an FYI Best Western Lakeside has a $3.50 a day resort fee that isn't included in the expedia price. I booked through expedia too!
