We are going next week and staying offsite with a rental car. Staying at the Buena Vista Suites.

I would like to take one day (the day we depart) - our flight is at 4:20 - and visit some of the resorts to check out the Christmas decorations.

What is the best way to do this?

Also, is our best transportation option for the park to drive to the TTC and then enter the parks from there?

Best way to get to TTC from Buena Vista Suites?

Thanks!

It is best if you plan to drive between the resorts. When you get to the guard shack, just tell them you want to visit the resort to look around.

Our favorite resorts to visit for holiday decorations are:
Grand Floridian
Wilderness
Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk (you can walk between them)

Have fun!

I agree that you should just drive to each resort.

As far as going to parks, simply drive your rental car to each park. You will pay for parking at every park (TTC is the parking lot for MK). If you park hop, you don't have to pay a second time, simply show your receipt from the first parking lot.

Parking at TTC and going to a park will take you lots more time. The only time you should park at TTC is if you are going to MK.

As others have said, the best way to tour the resorts is by driving. If you have more time, I would allot more than a few hours to see all of the resorts (or you can just pick one set of the Deluxe resorts).

WL and AKL have huge and amazing trees.
GF, CR, BW, and BC have gingerbread or chocolate displays
YC had an elaborate mini-city display

The moderates and values also have decorates, but not as elaborate as the Deluxe resorts. If you're pressed for time, I'd stick to the Deluxe resorts.

Depending on how long you take at each resort it might be semi-efficient to park at the TTC and then take the monorail to GF, Poly, and CR.

Driving to WL and AKL is the most efficient/easiest.

On one of your Epcot days (if you have one), you can exit via International Gateway and then see those resorts.

As other have posted each park has its own lot. The MK's is next to the TTC.

I have stayed at the Buena Vista Suites twice and its easy to get to the parks.

To get to the parks:

  • exit the parking lot
  • turn right
  • You are on 536 World Center drive
  • go straight
  • you will cross over I4
  • in maybe 5 minutes you will go under the Welcome to WDW Sign
  • do what ever celebration you want :dance3::banana::yay::woohoo::cheer2: (just no stopping)
  • follow the signs to go where you want to go its very well marked

Getting back is a little harder since WDW doesn't have Buena Vista Suites signs, but you need to get back to 536 and you should be OK

The hotel has some sort of map to help you.

In the past, there was also an impressive chocolate sculpture at the entrance to Boma in AKL.

That was a few years ago; I don't know whether they still do it.

I love touring the resorts at Christmas time. I would park at WL...then check it out, then boat over to the CR....get on the monorail, check out the MK resorts, boat back to WL. Drive to BW. Check it out, then walk around the lake, checking out S/D, YC/BC. Drive to AKL...check it out. Those are the resorts I 'normally' do.
I use Disney transportaton but in your case it will be faster if you drive yourself.

If we're visiting resorts and then heading to the Magic Kingdom - can we park at the resort and take the monorail or boat from there? Anyone know what the charge would be? I really want to see WL and GF - as well as BW and BC on the day we go to HS / Epcot.

Thanks for all of the help!

Parking at the resorts is for resort guests only and people who eat at the resort get a three hour pass.

You can valet park for $12.00 a day.
