Best way to text in Orlando: our MTS Manitoba does not cover USA or Mexico now...

Last time we went to Orlando, we texted using our MTS Manitoba plan, no extra charges. That was three years ago, now I am going with friends from Ontario. What does one do? We were so spoilt. Any options?

Unlock your phone before you leave if it already isn't. Go to Radio Shack and but the AT Samsung® A107 for GoPhone for $10 to get the sim card. Buy a AT&T pay as you go card for $15.00. You can opt for the $2/day plan on days used which gives you unlimited texting within the US and to Canada. It also gives you unlimted long distance within the US.

I have an iPhone so can't unlock it legally (and I still have some warranty left which will void if I unlock illegally)
I'm on Telus, and get the US roaming Text plan - $10 fee, then $o.30 per text.

If you have a bit of time to wait, MTS is supposed to be bringing out their new US plan hopefully in January. When I was talking to them, they didn't know what the plan would be but hopefully it will help us!
Last year we just bought 3 cheap phones at Walmart in Orlando and we were able to call & text each other. Now that I have an iPhone I'm hoping they come up with some option so I don't have to leave it at home.
