A friend of mine's Aunt was a huge collector. Sadly, the Aunt has recently been put in a memory care unit of an assisted living facility as she has Alzheimers. The Aunt is of very limited means and while cleaning out her house, they came across many boxes of Disney Pins which they hope to sell to help pay for her care - they are having to liquidate everything in her house - she has no immediate family. I know this sounds fishy, but I swear its true. My friend asked me for advice becuase she knew I loved Disney, but I don't collect pins so I have no idea. I told her I could ask here for suggestions.

I would suggest starting at www.PinPics.com and research the pins. A good idea of the value of each would be the ratio between people wanting them and people willing to trade them away. Then look on eBay, especially for completed auctions.

Here are some great ways to sell pins. My reasoning for these is it is where I go to buy my pins if I don't have a trip planned to WDW :)

1. On DISboards - On the trade boards, you can post the pins that you have a trade for other things of similar value. Now I know you are looking to fund the healthcare, but this is an option if you see something the family needs and you can trade for it. Trade Board

2. Antique shops - If you have some old pins, you should put take them to an antique shop and see if they have an offer for you. I have found some early 90's pins here.

3. Ebay - While there are a lot of trusted sellers on ebay, there are also a lot of people selling fakes. Just make sure you have real, correctly marked, purchased at DisneyWorld (or disney stores) pins.

Like PP said, pin pics is a must. Go here and get the value of the pins so you know what to post them for. Typically pins go for 3/4 their value on ebay. But there are tons of pins that are rare or not many were produced, so do you research.

Hope this helps! And btw, I love pins :) Always looking to trade for them!

ebay works best. value is not what it is worth but what someone is willing to pay. put a few le's with the not so desired ones and you may get more.
