Best way to see the Christmas displays at the Fort?

We are heading down to WDW next week and plan to make a trip one evening to the Fort to see all the fantastic Christmas displays. :cool1:

I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about doing this. Should we rent a cart for the evening, book the sleigh ride (is it long enough to get a good look?), or is it feasible to do a combination of internal bus and walking?

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!
Rhea

If it is in the budget, renting a cart is the easiest and best way to enjoy the displays at your leisure.

Renting a cart is probably the easiest way to do it. With a cart you can go through all the loops and stop and linger at the more elaborate displays. The sleigh ride will take you through a couple of the loops near the Settlement (if I recall correctly we went through 100 and 700 last year, and probably another one). The ride is fun, and you'll see lots of decorations, but it's not the best way. Internal bus and walking is certainly possible. Many of the best displays are concentrated in a few loops (last year I remember 100, 700, 1600 and a few others had many of the decorations), so you could take the bus to those loops, walk through at your leisure, and then hop the bus to the next loop that looked festive. We didn't have a cart last year and we walked through a lot of the loops to admire the decorations.

Sleigh went by us last night and just now in the 400 loop.

There are seven sleighs (horse-drawn wagons) running along with one large horse-drawn hay wagon.

We are in the 700 loop and one goes by every five minutes or less. The sleigh riders seem to really be enjoying the show!

Thanks everyone, I knew I would get some answers from the DIS! :thumbsup2 It looks like it's close to the same price to rent a cart as take the sleigh ride, so we may just decide to do that as it gives us more time to enjoy the sights!s

Anyone there who can tell me the best loops for viewing?

Usually 700 400 1600 have the most. With a golf cart you can see all loops, a few times over. :thumbsup2

We're in 800, and haven't seen sleighs, but the horse drawn carriages have come through. About half the loop is decorated, some of which are quite elaborate.:santa:

What do they charge for a cart now? It's been years and years since we rented one. TIA

ETA ~ $62/day including tax.
