OK So I have been to diseny a few times and am looking for ways to save more money. I found a sight that you pay $20 for and it gives you everything you need to spend half as much money with the same amount of time and extras. I am a little reluctant to purchase this as I do not want to be waste $20.

DO you have a source that helps you spend less for more??:confused3

I hope it's not that e-book that promises all kinds of savings - it's pretty useless from everything I've heard and read (I forget the name - maybe something like ultimate Disney World savings guide?).

I really wouldn't spend money to learn about saving money at Disneyworld. The DIS is the ultimate money saving guide itself. Check out the boards on Resorts/Discount codes, the Theme Parks board for advice on ticket savings, this Budget board, etc. THIS board is the source you need.

I don't know what you're referring to, but I think you'll be throwing away your $20.

I do notbelieve there is something in there that we here do not know about but on the other hand, it is only $20, will you miss them?

I agree with Vicki. The DIS has a ton of info and it is always being updated by users so you have current deals, unlike that book/website which could be outdated by the time you buy it. Also check on mousesavers.com, she always has lots of codes and tips. I go to allearsnet.com as well for the menus, it does not discount but at least I can plan my spending better, rather than ending up at some restaurant that costs me $200 when no one is really that hungry.

Yes, I should have mentioned Mousesavers. To me, that is the absolute best site for learning about how to save $$ on your Disney trip. Mary has everything all laid out there, not just codes, but her own advice on how to get deals, her opinion on the value of particular things, etc.

Yeah. My source is the disboards. And mousesavers. And a couple of other forums.

But I do know that there are certain travel consultants that get a hold of a block of rooms for discounted rates and then they fill them with "members". They are often convention/meeting rates that are at the deluxe resorts. And those rates are close to half the rack rates. But when you consider that many room-only discounts at the deluxes run in the range of 40% off and dont require any kind of membership or third party involvement, then joining doesnt make too much sense.

You might want to wander over to the resorts board to see if you can dig up a thread or two about those group rates. I cant recall the name of the travel agent who used to offer the rooms. Its been a while since I was looking to book a deluxe resort.
