Best way to make last minute room request

We leave Saturday for ASMo with three rooms- big family trip. We have requested Toy Story section through our online check in. Just read a report where someone just checked into a newly refurbished room in building 10. I know it’s a long shot- but I’d like to request refurbished rooms- can’t hurt right?

What would be the best way to do this? I don’t see anywhere to make a request like that online- just specific sections. Should I call the resort? Fax? If you call, would you call the resort directly or just the general reservation number?

I don’t expect it by any means- but I figure it's worth a shot!

I would call the resort directly now, and for good measure, go to the front desk instead of directly to the room.

Keep in mind that it's just a request. On our last trip, we requested a King room, standard view at Yacht. We ended up getting a 2 Queen room, but the room was filthy, so they ended up moving us to a King room water view.

What is the direct number for ASMo? We called the number listed (407-939-7000) and the lady said she was not at the resort- but was backstage guest relations. Is that the same thing?

Interesting... Looks like that page should be updated.

So I tried Google and found; 407 934 7639 - I wonder if that's the front desk...

When you call the published numbers for any Disney resort, you are getting a call center. They may answer "Disney's All Star Movies Resort," but they're not physically located at the resort. There are no publicly available numbers to reach the resort directly. Even if you call the front desk from a room at the resort, you'll be connected to the call center.

Just call the main reservations line at 407-W-DISNEY, or it's OK to use the published number for ASMo. Either way, the CM will be able to enter your request into your reservation record. When you arrive at the resort, stop at the front desk and tell them that you'd prefer a refurbished room. If you didn't get one, they can check to see if one's available and move you.

Ditto to the numbers they give out are not resort numbers, just the call center. I would call today and have it added to the reservation. If you did online check-in and IF you receive a text before you arrive, you should be able to tell if you did get a refurb room, if you know the buildings that are already refurbed.

I agree about stopping at the front desk before going to the room. On our trip in April I had requested first floor and was assigned third floor. We waited patiently and spoke to a lovely CM who said she could accommodate our request (I asked for a specific area within ASSports, first floor near parking). However she said it might take awhile. So we had lunch, walked around the property and shortly thereafter received a text with our room. It was perfect and worth waiting for. Our experience last year at Pop was the same. I figure we are there awhile, and it is more important to wait awhile patiently for what we want.

I have had great luck with calling reservations and noting my requests and then sending a fax to the resort’s front desk 5 days before my arrival. Every time I’ve either gotten the specific room # I requested or am very close by/on the same floor and hallway. The fax for ASM is 407-939-7111, good luck!

The worst part about the resort numbers is that even when you're staying at a particular resort at Disney, you call the front desk from your hotel room and you get the call center!!! LOL, we called from our room inside AK Jambo and we got the call center even though I pushed the front desk button :rolleyes2. Figured ok, no big deal the call center helps them out with fielding calls but of course when I was checking out, the CM's phone rang non stop and she picked it up. It wasn't guests either so the front desk number must be top secret :confused3

Good luck! With three rooms, it might be really hard though, so I wouldn't get my hopes up. (It would be hard enough for one room with only one building done.)
