This trip will be My mom's first trip needing assistance with an ECV. We are staying at Kidani Village and have an 8:30 am breakfast at Topolino's Terace then going to EPCOT for the day. I am looking for help on the best way to get there. My idea was a bus to Hollywood Studios and then Skyliner to the Riviera. I am hesitant on that just because I know transporatation hours can vary. I am just trying to figure out what would be the easiest and most convenient on her. Thank you so much for any advice you may have!

your plan sounds solid, or if you’d rather bus to bus go to DS and change busses. Or for total ease Uber good luck

The bus to Hollywood Studios then Skyliner to Riviera has a hidden issue. It is at least a 20 to 25 minute walk from the Studios to the Skyliner station by Epcot. You can take a Friendship boat from the Studios to the Skyliner Epcot station that will take the same or even more time but save on effort.

If you are willing to do two buses, then the quickest way is a bus to Animal Kingdom (which is very close by to where you are staying so a quick trip) and then staying in the bus area find the bus going to the Riviera, get on it to complete your trip. Then you can take the Skyliner to Epcot after your meal.

My family's rule of thumb for a resort to resort transfer using Disney transportation is to allow a minimum of 1and 1/2 hours.

I agree with Tiggerish's recommendations above, including leaving yourself at least 1.5 hours to get there.

Disney Springs isn't an option because it doesn't open until 10AM, so no buses go there earlier in the morning.

Check the park hours on your Topolino's day. Typically Animal Kingdom opens the earliest, at 8AM (sometimes other parks will as well, but not Epcot). According to the My Disney Experience app, buses to the parks start 45 minutes before park open. However, I believe it's actually earlier since resort guests get 30-minute early entry at each park every day.

Animal Kingdom park would be the best place to go first since it opens earlier and it's closest to Kidani. From the bus area at Animal Kingdom you can pick up a bus to any other Disney resort.

I agree with the bolded. That’s probably the most straightforward way.

If you go to Hollywood Studios, you can take the Skyliner from there to Caribbean Beach. The Caribbean Beach station is a hub; you could take the EPCOT Skyliner, which has a stop at Riviera. The possible issue with using the Skyliner is that it closes during thunderstorms or high winds.
