The cheapest way is to probably rent a car for a day and drop it off at WDW. You can get a towncar service, around $200 R/T. There is a service like Mears, check with your airline some of them have a special deal.

If you fly into MCO DME is free. Make sure you're saving enough $$$.

For August, I'm seriously considering flying Allegiant into Sanford. On my vacations, I choose to use a towncar service (Sunray Transportation). I added up the flight & car service prices together and there is no substantial price difference between flying into Sanford and flying into MCO. However, flying into Sanford saves some time even though it's further away from WDW, and some frustration because it's a direct flight. Plus it saves me vacation time as I don't have to leave work early.

There are car rentals and some kind of shuttle available when you book Allegiant air, but I prefer using Sunray.

Cheers!

We used Tiffany Towncar for our trip when we flew into Sanford. It was about $200 r/t, with a grocery stop. If a car rental is cheaper, that may be the way to go. I just don't particularly enjoy driving around areas that I am not familier with...I would hate to lose out on WDW time because I am lost in central Florida!!!!

We looked into this a few years back and found that 2 one-way car rentals was about half of a RT TC. We ended up flying to MCO.

If Mears Transportation runs from Sanford to Disney (I'm pretty sure they do) I recommend them. We have always had prompt wonderful service from them. The driver gets your bags from the luggage terminal and loads them and all. You just walk out and hop in the van. They also make grocery store stops on the way for no extra charge. Go to Sanfords website and they should have links to the different services that run between them and Disney. Then you can look them over and choose.

yes they do but with 5 of us it is actually cheaper or the same amount to get a van or limo service...

I still don't know what to do...American jacked up the price from DSM and now has crappy times and big layovers...Midwest is high from Des moines and makes a stop...we could rive to KC but would not save $$ by the time we pay for parking and gas to get there...we might as well fly out of DSM and have our family drive us to the airport. I am seriously considering Allegiant but I am kinda put off at the 10 dollar seating charge...that is 100 dollars in added cost for our family...not getting so much savings then...esp then to get a transfer from Sanford...who knows....I am still pondering...I may even wait to see if WDW comes out with a sweet deal for end of August travel like last year...we got tickets from DSM on AA for under 900 for 5 of us...unheard of around these parts!! :guilty: thanks for the advice everyone!!

Check with Allegiant, some of the airlines that fly into Sanford have some type of discount with a shuttle. Even with the discount a towncar might be cheaper for 5.
