We are staying at the BC on our upcoming visit. I've heard the bus transportation to/from MK, AK and DTD isn't very desirable at times. Would it be quicker to enter Epcot through the International Gateway, walk through the park, and get on a monorail to the TTC and then from there get on the ferry? Any thoughts or other suggestions?

If I was in an EXTREME hurry I MAY consider taking a taxi from the BC to the TTC and grabbing the monorail from there. But even that wouldn't save all that much time if the buses are running regularly. I know the buses can be hit or miss, but IMO you are better off sticking with them. Unless a taxi service was able to drop you off directly at the MK, but the closest they will go is the TTC. I dont think going through Epcot to the MK will save you any time at all.

It will not be quicker to walk through Epcot and get the monorail toward MK. It might be more festive, fun and full of adventure (which is why we sometimes do it from Y&B Club).:)

There are way too many steps for it to be quicker. The steps are:

1. Get to the International Gateway (short walk but takes a few minutes)

2. Go through the IG, there can be a line, there is necessarily a bag check

3. Walk (15 minutes at a good pace) to the monorail station.

4. Wait for a monorial.

5. Ride the monorail.

6. Exit monorail and get on another monorail or the ferry.

In many trips to Y&B Club only very rarely had any problem with MK bus taking too long. Usually the whole gig takes 25-30 minutes.

Nope, not faster at all. As already noted....it takes time to enter and then exit Epcot. I would say about 8-10 min to get to the Intl Gateway, then through bag check, then walk to the front of the park which should take about 20 mins. Then, up the monorail ramp and wait for the monorail..could be 10-15 mins. Then ride to TTC....10 mins. Off and transfer to another monorail and ride to MK...another 10 mins.

Better to just take the bus from BC. It really isn't all that awful.

As a PP already suggested if you"re in a hurry a taxi will be faster, but have the taxi take you to the Contemporary Resort and drop you at the guard kiosk, it is a very short walk from there to the MK turnstiles.
Taxi will cost you approx $15-$20, and take 15 min at most.

Walking through Epcot will definitely not save you any time.

One last thing. ourlaughingplace is outdated and not a very reliable source for transportation info. You're much better off just asking here and you'll get a quick answer with all the various options.

Even if you wanted to walk through Epcot to get on their Monorail and etc you would still need Park Hopper tickets or Annual Passes, because you can't do that on single day tickets.

Now if you want another option I would suggest taking a Taxi to the Contemporary and from there using their walkway to the Magic Kingdom.

Walking through EPCOT to the monorail and getting on another form of transportation to MK would waste a lot of time. The busses aren't that bad. We've never had issues with the Disney busses to and from BC to MK and AK. The bus ride to DTD is fine. It's the bus ride back that seems to take forever, but if you're not in a hurry, it's no a big deal. Regardless of resort, if you're coming and going to parks when the majority of guests are, the bus is going to seem undesirable. I had the worst ride of my life about 5 years ago on the bus from DHS to Poly after Fantasmic!

I plugged in BCV to MK...and that is what I got at OLP!!!! Are you serious??? What boat???
I continually tell people not to use OLP..way to much bad info. And there you have it.
Yes, you can take a cab to the GF and then monorail.
