My family and I are planning a trip soon and we would like to eat at Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavilion one night.
I was wondering how long it takes to get from the parking lot, all the way to the Japan Pavilion since it is all the way in the back. Also would it be better to drive and park in Epcot, or to drive to another resort and take the boat or walk to the International Gateway entrance. Will they let you park at one resort if you are staying at another, we will be staying in Fort Wilderness.
Also, does anyone know the hours for Teppan Edo. I have been unable to find them anywhere. We need later ressies, because we have plans earlier in the evening for another event.
We are going to be in Epcot 2 days later on in our stay but the kids want to eat at Coral Reef, and Akershus on those 2 days, so this would be our only option for trying this restaurant. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think there is a boat that goes from Future World to the World Showcase. I am not sure if the boat goes directly to Japan but taking the boat is faster and less tiring than just walking.

I would say go to the Beach Club and then go in through the back door at France. It might be quicker. We always go this way to watch the fireworks.

Do they allow you to park at another hotel if you are not staying of have dinner ressies? I thought you had to be a guest there or have dinner ressies. I know that in the past we tried going to Y and B Club for dessert and once we were allowed and once we were not.....

You can not park at the Epcot resorts and walk thru to WS .There are signs that say that parking is not for Theme Park access.

Resort parking is for the resort guests and they only allow maybe 3hrs for people dining at the resort. Resort parking is not for theme-park goers. Please do not do this, it makes parking very difficult for people staying in the resorts. Having stayed at the Boardwalk, we know first hand how frustrating the parking situation can be, especially in the evening hours.

From the front of the park, you could take the friend ship across the world showcase lagoon. That would probably be easier than walking it. If you're going to walk, then I think going to the right, and walking towards the Canadian Pavilion is probably the fewest steps around the lagoon. Judging from the EPCOT map here.

Just ate there last week, we loved it :thumbsup2 .
Your question was how long to give yourself? The answer is, it depends.

I would say the minimum is an hour from the parking lot of epcot to the front door of Teppan. Minimum. It's a long walk, the boat is slow, there may be a line at the bag check or the ticket gate, etc.

Morals and rules aside, it's just as long to walk from boardwalk or beach club over to teppan. Done that too, when we stayed at BWV.

I know the lunch doesn't start until 12 pm.

call 407-wdw dine and ask them about the hours on the day you're considering.

Recently I read to allow 35-45 minutes to get through ticketing and over to the princess breakfast in Norway. And although you're going at dinner time, I would estimate about the same for your Japan ressie. Not sure how much time you should add to get through the Epcot lot, though.

If you could walk straight there, it's only a 15 min. walk, BUT it's the end of the day, you'll be tired and hungry, and the park will be busy. I do recommend the boat - not any time savings, but it's very pleasant and gets you off your feet and away from crowds when you've got lower patience from hunger. It's also beautiful and a great prelude to a terrific dinner. Enjoy!

The boat ride sounds great, we'll probably do that. Thanks for the info!:thumbsup2

Its not going to be more than a few minutes faster from the Boardwalk - and would be farther from DHS. The International Gateway is between England and France - Japan is three countries down from there. Boardwalk itself is a several minute walk from Epcot. Security on the back end of Epcot in the evenings is often slower than the front end, since the gate is only staffed for the little bit of resort traffic it gets and a lot of BW/Y&BC/S&D guests are heading back into Epcot for dinner.

Passporter's times says it should take about 17 minutes to walk from the front of Epcot to Japan - once you get through the security lines and turnstyles - and 14 minutes from - not the Boardwalk, but the BW/Y&BC bridge - the BW is another five muntes - to Japan.

The boats are all notoriously slow.
