We'll be coming to Anaheim for the first week of our honeymoon on 14th June, staying at the Hyatt. Is DL within walking distance from the hotel? Or which is the best method of transport to get between the two?

Is this the Hyatt Regency in Orange County? If so they have a free shuttle service. They also charge you $12 a day to park if you have a car. It is too far to walk. There is a Target across the street which is handy.

Yes it is the Hyatt Orange County. We've got free parking at the hotel through Virgin Holidays so we don't have to worry about that fortunately. How frequent is the shuttle service, or is it always too busy to actually get on it?

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago. I thought the shuttle service was good. It came about every fifteen minutes and we never had a problem getting on. It does share a bus with a few other hotels, so there will be a few stops along the way.

We stayed there 2 months ago. The shuttle supposably ran every 30 min. There were lots of people waiting for the first shuttle and it ended up taking 3 busses to get everyone on but the second and 3rd bus only took about 5-10min to show after the first. On the way back at the end of the night I showed up 15 min before the scheduled time and the bus was there and we left a couple min later. It's a nice hotel beautiful driveway:) We were only there for two nights. There is a couple resturants across the street One being the Outback Steakhouse YUM. I would stay there again.

ps I think the shuttle is shared with another hotel but we were first off coming back from the park:)

How much is the parking at Disney itself then? Just thinking it may be a case of we'll go and see what the queue for the shuttle bus is like, and if its too busy, we'll just hop in the car and drive it.

Thanks for the tips so far though guys. Very helpful!

I'm not positive, but I think Disney parking is about $8 per day (I'm sure one of the S. Cal residents on this board can answer better).

I also stayed at the Hyatt about a year and a half ago, and we relied on the shuttle, and also thought it was great. We never waited more than 10 minutes, and the stops we made were very short. Personally, unless the shuttles are really packed, it probably saves time over parking in the Disney parking structure and waiting for the tram to take you to the parks.

If you don't have a ton of stuff to take with you Strollers ect stick with the shuttle it's stressless and cheaper. The shuttle runs for an hour after closeing which is nice gives you a bit of time to get out of the park. I'm sure it's just the first and last shuttles that are packed. I think parking was $8. On our last day we parked as we were heading straight to the airport mid-afternoon. We were going for early entry and ended up not getting there to early as we had planed on parking in the CAdv parking lot but it was closed and then it took us awhile to fine our way to the Mickey and friends parkade entrance.

We stayed at the Hyatt the last week in April. We parked at Disneyland and it was $10 a day.
If there had been just me and my husband we would have taken the shuttle. We have 4 kids (3 of them are triplets) and two strollers. We love staying at the Hyatt.

Fortunately it'll just be and by fiancee (well, she'll be my wife by then! Scary!), so I think given what you guys have said we'll be aiming to take the shuttle bus.
