Hi

I was hoping you could recommend some ideas for us to get from the airport to disney, I have been looking at some shuttle companies, but they all seem very expensive :scared1: most of the shuttle companies charge more than our flights were !

I will be travelling with OH my two dds and a buggy and a case, it is a hassle to go into Paris and then over ?

thanks

Hi flowerofscotland and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

I discovered the same when we looked at pricing a trip out of Prestwick. Even car hire was cheaper than the shuttles :)

thank you cyrano, I wish i had thought more about it at the time of booking, I just thought cheap flights, that will do me lol ! OH isnt that keen on driving in paris, he has never driven abroad before, I think the shuttle or bus to paris are our only options.

Hi Rach :cheer2:

Ive not got anything sorted yet, but will book over the next few days, thanks :D I am soooooo excited this time next week we will be arriving :yay:

We booked car hire through expedia. it was about the same price as the coach and train for all of us, and it meant we could pop into the supermarket.
we dont drive in paris at all but you dont have to go into paris to get there.
the car they gave us initially was a 3-door so i showed them my print-out that said 5-door and they gave us another. they didnt speak english though - i speak french. i booked a baby seat ahead of time.

We fly from Prestwick to Beauvais too when going to DLRP, and always hire a car (also through Expedia, when I book the hotel). We are going next week for 5 nights, and the cost of a small 5-door car is only £140 (which is cheaper than the return shuttle bus). It also gives you the flexibility to drive into DLRP, instead of depending on the pink bendy bus (as parking is free if you're an AnnualPass holder).

However, I would forwarn you that the directions can be a tad confusing (driving yourself from Beauvais to DLRP), especially the many motorways and exits required around Paris. I am sure I would have become extremely lost without our trusty Tom-Tom. So, I would recommend you take a Sat Nav is you have one, well worth it!

Oh, and expect a rather lengthy wait for collecting your car, although outside summer months may not be so bad. In July, we had to wait 1-hour at Hertz. The french staff are very nice, but sometimes a little too laid back!

Finally, if you are driving, observe the speed limits at all times (which can be more difficult if you are being pressurised by some of the crazy French drivers!). I was caught speeding in July (altho not received my fine as yet, just the notification from the rental company), doing 130kph in a 110kph zone (mainly as I had not come across the "speed camera ahead" sign before and so did not know what it meant!). I have learned my lesson on that one!

Enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2

have a fab time mand

cant wait to hear what you thought of it,i know how excited you have been ! :goodvibes
