We are arriving Friday morning at Disney after driving overnight to get there. We have a 9:10 am ressie at 1900 Park Fare, but we have to check in at AoA first to get our MBs activated. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get to our ressies. From there we're heading to MK. Would it be faster/better to take a resort from AoA to GF, take the bus from AoA to MK and then ride monorail to GF, or drive over ourselves to GF, leave car parked there for the day while at MK and then go back to AoA when we're done at MK (is that even allowed?)?

Since you have a car, I would go to AoA, get checked in. The drive to the TTC...you won't have to pay to park. Then hop on the monorail and go to GF.
Parking at a resort, for the day, if you aren't paying to stay there, is frowned upon. Besides, from what I understand, self-parking at the GF isn't all that convenient.
If you really prefer to take a bus, then bus to MK and then the boat to GF. The boat is usually faster than the monorail. If there is a boat coming in, or sitting there, go with the boat. But, if there is no boat in sight, you might want to take the monorail.

You aren't allowed to park at a resort and then go to a park. We have been given a 3 hour parking pass for meals in some cases. I doubt you'd get towed, but I personally wouldn't risk it. I'd do one of two things:

What I would do is take the bus to MK and then go to the resort launch and catch the boat to the GF. Then monorail back to MK for the day.

If you want to drive, drive to the TTC and monorail to GF from there. Then you can monorail over to the park when you are done.
