Best way to get there...

A friend of mine is taking a cruise to Mexico from Long Beach then going to Disneyland. What is the best route to get from the cruise ship to Disneyland? They'll be driving. I know there is an easy way to get there from the airport but I don't know where the cruise ship is in relation to the airport. Any help on directions that would avoid the busy freeways (unless that's the easiest way to go) would be a great help! Many Thanks!

Here's what Mapquest says about it - map. The route looks essentially correct and seems to go through some fairly scenic parts of Long Beach.
