Best way to get from Sanford to POR?

Just curious what experiences you have had when traveling from Sanford to POR. Not sure if we should have a towncar pick us up or if we should rent a car. How much does a towncar usually charge to transfer a family of 4 between Sanford and POR? Is it a wash in price- if it is even slightly close, I think we'll rent a car just to have the freedom.

I can not help with the rental car, but a town car from Sanford is about double the cost from MCO. I checked a few sites, Fl Tours price is $210.00 Tiffany Town Car is $180.00, Happy Limo is $160.00, Cartier Town car is $185.00

For us, renting a car made more sense than hiring a town car since we had use of the car every day of our stay for the same or a little more than what we would spend on the town car. However, in checking Allegiant Air's offerings from my area to Sanford, they list an airport transfer for about $25 per person one way....probably a shuttle or bus. Maybe if you check out Sanford airport's website you can find out more information. Even then, if you have a family of four, a rental car may be a better value.
