We will be in Disney World in November. Me and my kids are going with my BFF and her kids (all kids are older/teenagers). BFF wants to go to a concert in Downtown Orlando on Orange Ave. None of us are really interested in the band and don't want to go, but I think she has convinced her 23yo DD to go with her to the concert.

We are planning on being at MK that day until 9:00 p.m. It's the first day of our vacation and we haven't been in three years. Are there any affordable transportation options for the two of them to get to the concert? I used a taxi fare estimator and got a price of $66 one-way (it is about a 20-mile trip) :scared1:

I could probably pick her up after the concert but I really don't want to leave MK and come back. I figure it will take me 2 hours between getting to the car and the drive there and back.

The first thought I had was let her rent a car for the day on site. It's her day, other the juggling public transportation that is the most economical.

If only I could get her to rent a car. LOL. She refuses to drive in Florida. A few years ago we rented 2 cars and she drove the other one and said never again.

I wasn't sure if there was another option like a town car or shuttle but that probably would be as much as a taxi. I know it would take an hour on the bus, but I believe from DTD the earliest afternoon bus to Orlando leaves at 5:15.

I'm thinking we should just take up a collection and give her the $60 for the taxi so we can stay at MK. ;)

Since she will not drive in Orlando, I would suggest the cab. It's not exactly the most economical but why should you leave MK for a couple of hours to take her to the concert venue. This is your vacation also. She hopefully will understand.

Traveling at night on a bus is not the safest way. It won't be cheap, but she is better off hiring car service round trip so that her pickup and return are already scheduled, and she won't have to try to find a cab for the return. Not all cab drivers are crazy about dealing with traffic between Downtown and Disney.
