Best way to get from Disney to Universal?

Hello all,

I wondered if anyone had suggestions for the best way to get from Downtown Disney (Hotel Plaza Blvd.) to Universal's CityWalk, when I do not have a car? The more specific the better.

Are there direct bus routes? Should I just catch a cab? About how much would those options cost?

Your help is much appreciated.

Im in a similar boat to yourself - going in November and no car (staying at Pop Century). I was considering Mears transportation - you can book them for $15 return per head (i think). No idea how far in advance etc you need to book it but compared to nearly 2 hrs travelling by Lynx each way then I think its a reasonable option.....let me know if you get any better options.

Does it really take two hours via the Lynx bus? I called Mears and it's $14.00 per person round trip from your Disney hotel to Universal, and you call the night before to reserve. The number is: (407)423-5566. (you must use the area code even in Orlando.) Why is the Lynx bus service so long? Does anyone have information on this service?

Lynx from my understanding, cause we were also going to take the bus, but opted for mears as well becasue it would be so much longer to take the Lynx bus, is not a direct route. You have to pick up the number 50 bus at the TTC at MK to sea world, then from sea world, you have get another bus that goes to universal studios. One bus runs on the hour (I think) and the other on the half hour (again, not sure of the time). But anyhow, that is why it takes longer because you have to wait for the other transfer And then, I was also told that on Sundays and holidays...there is a different route which takes even longer.

We are planning on visiting Emeril's Tchoup chop on Universal's city walk on labor day, so we opted to go with mears and pay the extra money which we think is well worth it.

Also want to comfirm with Disney Fool that yes mears quoted me $14 a person round trip from my WDW resort to universal studios and you can call the day before to set up a pickup time. They also told me that you could schedule a pickup time when they drop you off or you can call 2 hours before you need to be picked up.
