Best way to change dates on a room reservation? Call or cancel?

Sure you can. I did it yesterday to my May stay at GDT
Not to 100% of reservations 100% of the time but it is possible.
BB is one that is never possible to change online, other than that, it's hit and miss. Sometimes by the hour.

I wonder if there's a difference b/w packages and RO. I only book packages and I know both times it said I had to call to change the dates.

Or it's the typical Disney IT, one minute somethings there and another minute it's gone.

It does come and go minute by minute, even on the ones I've changed myself.
The GDT stay for May showed "call" message so I reloaded the page and the Change link showed up.

I think I have a package stay booked for next NY. I will check what it says

I would hazard a guess that certain types of promotions and packages have to be altered by phone, while others can be done online. I have modified some online and others I couldn’t, but couldn’t tell you for sure what type of promo they were, other than they weren’t packages. I have only booked one package, and I didn’t modify it in any way. I don’t believe I ever tried to change a bounce back either. Most of my reservations are either passholder or Fla resident, other than the occasional bounce back.

Except I book AP room only discounts every time, with very few exceptions (like at Christmas when there isn't one)
Some I can change/alter online. Some I can't.
But the type of booking is always the same

I have (4) 10 day stays booked right now. All of them are room only. 2 have an AP discount, the other 2 are at rack rate. All of them say I have to call to modify my dates. I've tried refreshing. Nothing changes. I've looked at this a lot lately because I've been considering starting one of the trips a day earlier. It always says I have to call. If it didn't say that, I would have added the day by now.
