What's the best way for our kids, and us, to carry our KTTW and other cards? Or should we just carry them in our packs?
Should we let our kids carry their own KTTW and giftcards? Do we "need" lanyards? We don't plan on doing any pin trading. I can easily make us little zippy pouches with a way to clip them onto something. But how often will we need to access our cards?

When we travel we keep our KTTW in one of the credit card holders that holds multiple cards. We only use them for meals and the enter the park and then again something for Extra Magic Hours. I would not let my family hold there own for fear of them being lost, I would rather just avoid that situation all together.

You'll need to access your cards each time you enter a park, especially for EMH, you'll need them each time you want to get a fast pass (each person's card will be needed), you'll need them for meals/snacks if you're on the dining plan and you'll need them if they have charging attached to them for making purchases around the parks. You'll also be carrying around a photopass card if you so choose to participate in that.

All in all, I would say I pull out my card quite frequently during the day. I don't have kids, but if I did I don't think I would let them hold their own - probably a lot of trouble if it were to get lost.

I usually wear them in a zip pouch attached to a lanyard - or the sling bag I have has a see-through zip pocket on the inside flap that I keep them too, if I'm not in a lanyard wearing mood.

During the day, you will have to use your KTTW probably to get into the parks and to pay for anything if you have charging privilages on the cards. For EMH, you will have to show the card more often to prove your a guest on WDW property.

If your wallet won't hold all your tickets and KTTW cards, I would drop by walmart, target or kmart in the wallet section, they usually have travel type wallets, very cheap, that have a lot of credit card slots.

I would NOT let your kids hold onto their cards. If you loose them, it's going to be a hassle to replace them, and teenagers seem to loose them more often than small children do.

PS, take photos off all your cards, tickets, KTTW, photopass. They have numbers on them and without those numbers, Disney can't replace your tickets, especially. So, if your kid lost one, and you didn't have that number, you would have to buy them another ticket! Taking pictures of the numbers on the back is the easiest thing to do. Also, right your name on your photopass, so you know when it's handed back to you, it is in fact, YOUR photopass.

Card handling is an important job :rotfl:

as ugly as they are:rotfl: we went to fanny packs several years ago and we have leather Mickey credit card holders we put all cards in. need KTTW to enter a park and for your dining if you have free dining or a snack and to obtain any fast passes you may want to get.we do not care for lanyards. we can get a lot in the fanny packs but nothing on our backs or shoulders is a relief for us:dance3:

You don't need lanyards. No reason to walk around with it dangling around your neck all day. Just put it in your pocket/purse with your wallet. You only need it when you enter the park, to get a fast pass and to pay for meals or merchandise.

how old your kids are and that is a key point. Our kids are younger, 7 and 11, and we carry all the stuff. They also do not have charging privileges.

We usually have a zipped pocket in the backpack set aside for our tickets and my wife and I carry our KTTW cards on ourselves for charging purposes.

You can carry it around. It will not be a chore. You only need to scarf around the neck and shoulders of some rides to keep it safe. Remember that there are water slides at Disney, so you might consider something waterproof and / or put into zip-lock bag in her purse.

I keep all the KTTW cards. Issue them to the kids upon entering the park and then back to me. I only use all of them when we are getting fastpasses and extra magic hours. You only need one to use for dining plan or snacks (unless thats changed). Keeping them all together saves time. I stick them all in a pocket in my backpack I carry. Easy to get to.

Thanks everyone! This helps a lot. I was not really looking forward to wearing a lanyard!
We'll keep everything in our "hiking lumbar pack" (fancy way of saying "fanny pack")
