Since I have not seen Dr. Pepper at WDW, I figured i would bring it from home this time. We dont get a rental car until the day before we check out of the BWV to go to the WL, and we are not planning or want to make a grocery stop using TTC. What is the best way to bring it from home?? 2 liter bottles or cans? Should i pack it in the suitcase, or how should i bring it? I would probably only bring 1 12-pack or 2 2-liter bottles. Any suggestions??

My suggestion was going to be to use a service like netgrocer.com to send the Dr. Pepper to you, but I just visited their site and they don't offer any soft drinks.

I'm not sure how well soda will travel in checked baggage. That's probably why netgrocer doesn't offer it.

Sorry I couldn't help....we drive down and bring our Diet Dr. Pepper with us.

I would definately bring it in a carry on. If you have a soft pack cooler, put a 12-pak in that & carry it on w/ you. You could also pack your bathing suit in there as it does not matter if that gets wet!
How are you getting to the BWV from the airport when you arrive?
Would you consider stopping along the way?

We always pack Mountain Dew and Diet Pepsi in the 24 oz. bottles. I wrap them up in plastic bags and pack them between clothes and make sure they are padded well. I have never had a problem with them breaking.

I just wanted to tell you that whenever I am out and about I always look for your license plate! Never have seen you though....

I would also pack your soda in one of those collapsible coolers like you can get at Wal Mart, and carry it on with you. That way you don't have to worry about it getting thrown around and stuff.
I would cans, or the small bottles, but not the 2 liters. Maybe even a few of those 20 oz bottles you can buy seperately.

BTW, you're not flying on America West are you?? Just kidding!;)
I'm just jealous that you are leaving now and I have to wait until Dec!

I think the south's answer to Dr. Pepper is Mr Pib - at least that is what my DS and his friend tell me. It does seem carrying it on the plane in a collapsible cooler would reduce the risk of having to do laundry as soon as you arrive. Mr daughter once packed gallon plastic containers of coffee syrup in her suitcase for a trip to Nebraska. Not only was the luggage lost for two days but it was ruined by the stains from the syrup. Good luck and have a great trip.

Dr. Pepper is a 7UP company product, Mr Pibb is Coca Cola's answer to that product.. Same holds true with Sprite, it is Coca Cola's 7UP competition. Disney Doesn't sell Dr. Pepper or 7Up for that matter because they have a contract with Coca Cola.

Just thought I would interject that ;).. I have never travelled with soda, so I don't have any advice in that area :p

You could always grab a taxi from BWV to the grocery store or the mini mart at the gas station on property. :) :)

I never bring soda with me, but, do bring it home (beer too). I only buy cans and pack those in my checked luggage. Never once had a problem. The cargo hold is pressurized just like the cabin. If they don't explode in the cabin, they won't explode in the hold.
It takes a LOT of rough handling to make those cans explode, so, just pack them in the luggage. If you pack them among clothes, it pads them ( I would put them in a plastic bag) and diminishes shock.
I carry very little onto the plane, and soda can be very heavy, especially if you are buying enough to keep you happy for a week.

Dr. Pepper is a 7UP company product,
You know, I have wondered about that everytime I see Dr. Pepper in the COKE machine at work. I wonder what is up with that.

I'm just curious. Has anyone done the cans in a carry on since 9/11? Was there any problem at the check points? I'm just remembering the poor mother with her breast milk. BTW my DH uses bubble wrap and plastic bags to secure his "Irish" in his checked luggage!
