We are ready to start making our ADRs for January! :) We have a party of 8 adults. What is the best way to do this? Should i break it up to two parties of 4 when looking for ressies? Can i even do that? Any advice appreciated. TY!

On my 180 days out I called. I would have booked online but the entire system was down so that was out, and by the time it came back up, I was not home.

I think if you are early enough you won't need to break your party up into two parties of 4.

Not too long ago I had to make changes and add folks onto some ADR's and was still able to make changes online to book a party of 9, and in two instances just booked a party of 2 at the same time.

Try online if you are up early enough and then call for those difficult ones at 7 AM

What restaurants are you trying to book? I would try online and start with 8. We made most of our ADRs for six at 180+ but we may have family joining us one evening. So I made a couple reservations for 8 well after the 180 mark.

You might need another person with an MDE account to break it up into two groups of four.

Start by looking for a reservation for 8. There are fewer large tables in many restaurants (except Biergarten and Teppan Edo), but by making it for 8 the castmembers at the restaurant will know your party size so they'll do their best to seat you at one table or adjacent tables. If you book 2 parties of 4, you'll be booking 2 tables that seat 4 each. When you arrive at the restaurant you can ask to be seated together, but it might mean a longer wait or it might not be possible and you could end up at 2 tables at opposite ends of the restaurant.

I was able to book for 8 just 60 days before our mid-August trip - it's taken some perseverance for a couple of the ADRs, but all has worked.

However, we usually book at most one meal a day since we like to take mid-day breaks, and not be 'held prisoner' by our ADRs if the mood or circumstances change, and frankly it's too much food and too much money for 2 TS meals each day.

BOG pre-opening breakfast, BOG lunch, CP pre-opening breakfast, La Hacienda dinner in hopes of a view illuminations, early Raglan Road dinner during performance hours, Boma early dinner (that one was pretty much wide open).

Some hints - BOG lunch (and breakfast if they open it up for your dates in the coming months) if you can't get an 8, you can book in any combination of parties if the ADR times are very close together - it's seat yourself.

Sci Fi - the true cars only seat up to 6 - if you book a party of 8 - you will sit at 'cafeteria type' tables placed between a car front and back - you will actually not face the screen, but be sitting perpendicular to it. They may be able to break the party up and sit you in cars next to each other, but that place is usually fully booked out and they may not be able to meet the request. So, that ADR we just did 6 - 2 of us have just agreed not to go (and I think they were happy about it). If you book that as 2 parties of 4, you would be more likely assured of sitting in 'real' cars.

Beaches & Cream - no such thing as a table for 8 or anything over 4 adults (comfortably) - you will likely be separated anyway.

Maybe other people know of other places where the table configurations will effect the seating of a party of 8.
