Best way to book 1 adult + 1 child to get a good deal?

Me and my son are going to DLP in a couple of days for the first time. I booked it on the spur of the moment and although I was little irked that it cost me the same as a 2 adult, 2 children family I just kind of shrugged my shoulders and paid it (booking the holiday was a distraction technique while I waited for some test results from my son's paediatrician).

We are already talking about going again next year :rotfl: does anyone know whether there is a way to book to get a good deal, or a good site, or anything really?? When I booked this year to get a free child place there had to be two adults so i couldn't use that offer, and also because there weren't two adults, I had to pay DS as an adult price.

I'd really appreciate any words of wisdom on this!

Oh there are loads of ways :goodvibes. If you only want to stay onsite, keep an eye out for discount packages (usually the earlier you book with an offer, the better price you get). January to March each year is the cheapest time to go, kids under 12 are all free at that time of year (and I know from experience you don't have to have 2 adults on the booking to get the free kids places at that time of year). You will always pay a supplement if you're staying at DLP as one adult instead of 2, but its still cheaper than booking 2 adults.

Don't book your transport through Disney, do it yourself (nearly always cheaper, by quite a bit).

And if you want to be fully flexible for DLP and reckon you might have more than one visit per year, check out DLRPMagic for their annual pass information, and then factor in around £60 or less per night (depending on the season) for a hotel near The Magic.

Thanks for reply :goodvibes

By a discount package do you mean DLP hotel and passes for the parks? This is what I would want. :)

This year is the very first time I have taken my little boy abroad, he is autistic and I didn't want the weight of responsibility for travel arrangements on my shoulders. We are going on a coach which picks us up in our home town and takes us all the way to the hotel (SF), no transfers our anything like that for me to worry about. Next year though I will hopefully be more confident so will look at transport options (I live in the Yorkshire area).

Ah that will be why there was the problem with paying for your son as an adult - Disney themselves don't charge in this way.

Yes, next time give yourself lots of time, and get crunching the numbers :goodvibes. I hope you both really enjoy your first visit.

So I am best booking direct through disneyland paris for the hotel and passes package and then doing the transport side seperately? Yes the only deals I looked at for this year were deals through the coach operators as I wanted a straight forward booking and journey.

Thank you for your advice, I will keep an eye out for offers/deals. We would only go once a year max as it's a bit of a journey for us - plus as much as I would love to go on holiday more often I can't justify the expense!

I'm sure we will have a great time, I will report back afterward. :yay:
