Best Way of Getting to Kona for 7:30 from POR

Normally we would take the bus to MK, and then take the monorail, but with the resort monorail not running until 8:30, we are OOL. We will be going to MK afterwards, so just driving and parking at the Poly is not an option. :(

1. Drive to TTC, park and walk over to Poly. After breakfast, take monorail to MK and then when we leave take monorail back to TTC. Pro: less worrying about being late b/c of late bus/ boat. Con: TTC afterwards.

2. Take the bus to MK and the boat launch to Poly. Pro: can take a bus back to resort after- no TTC. Con: waiting for bus (stress about being late) and with no monorail, boat could have a line?

3. Taxi there, bus back. Pro: easy. Con: money

Any better ways that I'm not including? Best way? There are 4 of us, but kids are 9 and 12- no strollers, etc.

#1 is what I would do. I don't see the TTC to be that much of a hassle.

#3 all the way. You gain quite a bit of sleep that way. Disney suggests 90 minutes using their transportation. Which is usually a bit of over-kill, but sometimes you need every minute. With a taxi they can pick you up 30 minute before your ADR. For me, that is well worth the $20 spent on a taxi.

#1 for me. No guarantee, but when we arrive that early to TTC parking lot in our car we have always parked close to the TTC so that we have a short walk and no tram ride. This means very little time spent getting to Poly and also a fairly easy departure from the MK at night.

Depending on the time and crowds, leaving MK can be nicer this route than waiting for muliple buses then standing all the way back to POR. We usually have a small cooler with drinks waiting for us in our car and enjoy a comfortable, quiet ride back to the resort.

Not my choice, but you could drive to Poly and park or valet park (unless the rules have changed during construction so maybe someone else knows...). Normally, valet parking would allow you to leave your car at the Poly during the visit to MK. Regular parking would require moving the car after breakfast. Don't take my work on this option though.

If you go with the TTC option, I would make sure that the path is open through the construction zone.

Given the circumstances and the "unknown" with construction I think I would go with option #3. I think you can even go to the Mears website to see how much the cab would be.
