We have a breakfast ressie at Cape May coming up in a few weeks and I'm trying to figure this out....it's not till 10 am so all the transportation should be up and running. Bus to AK and then bus to BC? Bus to HS and boat to BC? Is there a reason why we just shouldn't hop on whichever park bus shows up and then take a bus from that park to BC? Can I get a bus from the front of Epcot to BC? And how much time to allow for this? Wondering if we just shouldn't take Uber instead......

A taxi is always going to be the quickest and most direct if you don't mind paying. There's something to be said for getting on the first park bus to arrive at AKL and then transferring to a BC bus at that park, except for EPCOT in this case (EPCOT would require park entry and exit out the Intl. Gateway to walk over to BC). Sometimes there can be a long wait between park buses. However, of the parks at which to make the transfer, I would recommend DHS. From DHS you can walk or boat over to BC, without having to enter a park.

Taxi is the quickest, but it's complicated by having kids who need booster seats. I may have to tote those around with me too.....

I would take the bus to Hollywood Studios then walk or boat to the Beach Club. IMO the walk is much nicer than a second bus ride and if you see a boat just departed you can walk to avoid the wait.

We've stayed at BC and BWI before so I'm familiar with the walk, but in 90 degree June weather we are going to be disgusting sweaty pigs by the time we get there lol! I will go with whichever park bus shows up first, AK or HS.

My notes from March say this:
Took a cab from Jambo to Beach Club, so we could enter through World Showcase.
13 minute ride
$20 including tip

We did not have kids with us, so no worries about car seats. My friend was not in good health and I wanted her to see World Showcase, so we did it this way instead of taking the bus to the front of Epcot and walking all the way through Future World.

For the situation you describe, if you won't take a taxi without booster seats, then bus to Studios and boat to BC. Don't attempt the walk with booster seat age kids or they will be miserable by the time you get to breakfast. The walk is 1.1 miles (20-30 minutes).

I have a 10:00 AM reservation at Cape May and I'm staying at POP with DW and DS1. We are planning to take the bus to HS and then boat to YC/BC. I'm figuring we'll allow about an hour to make the trip.

They have made the walk before, we stayed at BWI in the fall, but I am thinking the heat is going to make us miserable.

I would probably take the bus to AK and transfer to a YC/BC bus.
Heading to DHS isn't a bad idea, but you have to wait for the bus to DHS, get there, then possibly wait for the boat, ride to YC/BC.
It should be easier and quicker to transfer at AK.

The problem with taking a bus BACK to a resort from a park in the early morning hours is that they are not always scheduled/available. The buses are in get people to the park mode and a bus that drops off people at the YC/BC might not be returning to the YC/BC. I have encountered this problem in the past. Then you have to find a bus supervisor (and they aren't always right there) to redirect a bus for you. Soooo, I do not believe that would be any faster than the bus to DHS and then boat to BC. Taxi is the best.

Not denying that taxi is faster, but AK is pretty good at keeping an eye on the load zones in the a.m. Just make sure someone is actually standing inside the queue, not just sitting at a nearby bench or leaning on a rail on the opposite side of the platform.

There's always a coordinator stationed at a podium between load zones 4 & 5 during the day, whom you can remind that you're waiting to get to a resort.

If we take a taxi, how long would the ride be? We have a bubble bum (inflatable) booster that I could use for my youngest if needed.

This is SO true, listen to this advice, it is right on the money. This exact scenario happened to us one morning and we were stuck at DHS forever waiting early in the morning. Trust me, take the taxi, its a cheap and fast way to go.

This has always been my experience. I think that the bus folks realize that AK is a popular spot to go to, from AKL, to get to other resorts.

Absolutely. If you don't want to take any chances, and save time, take a cab. My biggest issued? Even at that time of day, it's going to be hot/steamy....so not having to trek around would be a huge plus....a cab will get you there quickly and comfortably!!
