Best waterpark for young kids?

Which waterpark do you prefer when travelling with smaller kids? Our girls are 4 and 8, and not the most adventurous. We're considering going to a waterpark for one day, but can't figure out which one to choose. We really would like a place where we could just hang out, and the kids play in the water - thrill rides and such are not all that important.

I think Typhoon Lagoon would be great! My siblings and I went at the age of 9, 7, 5, and 4 (this was in 2000) and had a great time. We did snorkeling and that was fun although I did a terrible job at keeping the snorkel in my mouth. We enjoyed the lazy river and the slides.

The wave pool at blizzard beach is not as intense as typoon. Typoon knocks you over and people body surf and crash into each other. But fun!!!

I think I'd go with Typhoon Lagoon. They will absolutely love the Lazy River and most of the water slides will be great for them. All of them will be just fine for your older girl.

Blizzard Beach, by far! Ski Patrol training camp is an area that is ideal for your kids and super fun. It has small tube and body slides, ice floes for kids to walk across, and a T-bar. It's its own separate area, so you can hang out in a chair and watch them. My kids used to spend hours there when they were younger. Also, Teamboat Springs (the family raft ride) is about 5x more fun that the one at TL. It's one of our favorite rides at Disney. Total blast. You can ride the chairlift up, which is cool, or walk. The wave pool at BB is more gentle, which would be better for your kids. Both parks have similar lazy rivers.

The reality is that both parks are great and you can have fun at either one. But for non-adventurous kids, BB wins by a landslide. It's newer, too.

This came up in another topic recently, my answer is that when I was younger BB was the only water park I wanted to go to. So much so I spent a few birthdays there, I liked it that much. I was also a total wimp as a kid, so I didn't go on the biggest rides. That said, it's really only Summit Plummet that is scary. The themeing is much more interesting to younger kids at BB. They do have the entire younger kids area at BB too. Just hands down with younger kids I would go to BB.

As I reached later teens, 15-18 then I swung more to TL as it more peaceful & slower pace (which I would have found boring when I was younger). The snorkelling although great many kids don't like the cold water, it's not a universal winner.

Ultimately you know your family but I would plump for BB if pushed.
