I am a vegetarian but the rest of my family is not. We will be eating at Coral Reef, Ohana, Jiko, and Les Chefs de France for dinner and Kona Cafe for breakfast. I have seen some of the vegetarian options on allears.com menus, but I was wondering what the DIS'ers have tried and what you have to say! Also, where else in the world can you find good veggie meals? We are on the DDP. Thanks!

'Ohana for dinner is your only issue with the TS restaurants you've chosen; it's very meat-centric. I know in the past for vegetarians they've brought out a tofu noodle bowl that got high marks. Make sure your vegetarianism is noted on the ADRs and you mention it again when you get to the restaurant. You'll be able to eat some of the sides. If you can, try Boma. It's the best buffet at WDW, IMO, and great for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. There's a wide variety of food.

For CS, you do have a lot of options except for Animal Kingdom. There you pick from a veggie burger at Restaurantosaurus or a cheese pizza from Pizzafari. Though there are always snacks like pretzels to be had. The other parks are easier. At MK my favorites are the Main Street Bakery and Columbia Harbour House. In Epcot I like Sunshine Seasons or Tangierine Cafe. Also there are many snacks to be had in World Showcase. In the Studios, ABC Comissary, Rosie's and Catalina Eddie's have good options.

We are a vegetarian family, though we eat fish too. Generally speaking any of the buffets had numerous choices. In fact that's why I selected some of them. Often I feel the plated menus don't provide enough substance or value for a full vegetarian meal. We really enjoyed our meal at Coral Reef.

MK
- Main Street Bakery, Basil Mozzerella sandwich is wonderful and dessert can be a big as the sandwich
- Peco Bill's veggie burger was less than, would not order again
- Columbia Harbor House was always closed when we were in the area, but they have a veggie chili and veggie wrap

Epcot - lots of choices, lots of places

AK - We had Boma booked for dinner that night so we only had ice cream in the park; there is fresh fruit stand there that looked great;
- I would ask to book Boma vs Ohana there will be plenty there for everyone in the group and lots there for you; I think its fair for you to get one meal! Jiko is not a substitute for Boma, they are very different

DHS - We had dinner at Hollywood & Vine, nephew had a popsicle the next AM there, no CS meals, had water and popcorn during Fantasmic; Pizza Planet seems to get high marks for pizza and salad items

We really enjoyed our meal at Coral Reef.

Did you eat fish at Coral Reef or did they make a special dish for you? I have been to Ohana before because all of my girlfriends wanted to go there, so I just went and didn't eat the meat. It was fine, but after reading about some of the special order meals I was wondering what they could do for me.

I ate fish, bbq Catfish to be exact.

There is a Pumpkin Risotto on the menu that is Vegetarian. There is also Pizza on the kids menu (pay OOP vs use a TS credit if you pick that). I actually chose a the same kid dessert as my nephew: make your own sundae; fun and tasty!

I always leave Ohana stuffed! They have so many starters to fill up on...mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing, fried wontons and dipping sauces, stir fried veggies, and scalloped potatoes, They can prepare a noodle/tofu bowl for your main course as well.

At Jiko, I always get the Taste of Africa to start (Kalamata Olive Hummus, Durban Tikka Masala, and Malay Spinach-Lentil Dip with Lentil Pappadam, whole wheat lavosh, and flaxseed Naan bread $9.00). The Cucumber, Tomato and Red Onion Salad (with arugula, cottage cheese and watermelon vinaigrette $8.00) was delicious, and for the entree, Grains, Peas and Vegetables (kamut, pearl and black barley, wheat berries, quinoa, garbanzo peas, with roasted vegetables and seared tandoori tofu $24.00) is amazing, not to mention a huge portion so you can have leftovers.

Le Chefs De France makes a somewhat interesting, but good Lasagna (Lasagnes de legumes du soleil a l'huile d'olive au thym - zucchini, eggplant, bell peppers, onions and tomato baked into thin layers of pasta - $18.95). They also have gruyere cheese macaroni and cheese, which I have not yet tried.

Both Coral Reef and Kona Cafe have some vegetarian offerings as well. Good luck and enjoy!
