Best use of snack credits for breakfast

We will be down in August, 1st time on DDP, and VERY excited about it. We will be using our CS credits for most lunches and our TS credits for dinners. Just wondering if you can give me some advice on a great way to use snack credits for breakfast. Want to purchase some snacks throughout the parks but also want to use them to save $$ on the breakfasts if possible. Thanks in advance!

I've been researching this too, and if you're willing to eat some "treat-like" breakfasts, I've heard that the MK Bakery on Main Street has some yummy breakfast items that count as snacks.

I remember reading something about a french toast loaf.... :cloud9:

I do believe in most resorts, at least in the Pop you can usually pick up a nice sized box of donuts and it counts as a snack. That could serve as breakfast for probably more than one morning depending on your party size.

At the Boardwalk Bakery you can get the Fruit Plate or the Chocolate Cheesecake. They were both GREAT!

Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!! All sound great. Please keep the recommendations coming; we appreciate it!

Thank you for the update, marciagms! I've updated "the spreadsheet" with your information.

Anyone needing a copy can obtain the updated file via email to delawhere_mike@yahoo.com.

Thanks again!!!

There's a stand near Ariel's Grotto in MK that had some huge muffins that I think cost 1 snack credit.

A copy of what...Do you have some kind of sheet listing all the possible snacks or something....if so I may definately be interested. Thanks.

Yep, a file is available....

Joyce Johnson has posted a “sticky” at the beginning of this DISboard section, linking updated information on the dining plan, included some common questions that have been asked over the past year since the plan was introduced last January: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1023429&page=1

Joyce also pulled together a list of confirmed items that can be used for your snack credit on the dining plan: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1109080&page=1 I wanted to format Joyce's information into an easily printed file for my upcoming WDW trip, and I elected to pool all available information for everyone's use. The file is available to anyone wanting their own copy, via email to delawhere_mike@yahoo.com. It's also available on-line.

We plan on bringing bananas from the store, and using my snack credit for a box of donuts, and a jug of milk.

Need this info, too... Although I am hoping that snack breakfast items would not be limited to muffins, donuts and pastries. Do they offer fruit, cereal, etc. for snacks?

Yes, most of the food courts allow you to get fruit or individual boxes of cereal using a snack credit. However, you might be better off to just pay OOP for the banana or apple and then use the credit for the cereal. It's a shame some of them don't sell a "prepackaged" snack breakfast of some kind that includes cereal, milk, & fruit (which would probably come in right @ the $4 benchmark for snacks).

Or maybe I can pack small boxes of cereal and use the snack credits for the milk. I was thinking of bringing a jar of peanut butter and buying a loaf of bread somewhere, too, although I don't know if they sell that on WDW property. (Wheat bread, preferred... I may be asking for too much, lol).

I am planning on bringing the cereal and buying a half gallon of milk to keep in the fridge. My kids drink a ton of milk, and I would rather use my snack credits for something other than milk.

We just got back from our trip (6/22 to 7/2/06). We stayed at CBR from 6/24 to 7/2. A single serving cereal box and milk is counted as 1 snack credit.

That's good to hear! So you can get both (milk & cereal) and only use one credit. This will be great for us because we have a couple of Character Breakfasts that are more of a brunch and I know we will need a little something to get us started in the morning. Thanks for posting. :thumbsup2
