Best use of EP for 1 day of 4-day trip Easter week?

We are Universal newbies so know nothing (other than what I've read online) about the park. We have 4 full days leading up to Easter, staying on-site, although it's highly unlikely we'll be up for EE on our first day, as we don't even land in Orlando until 10pm. Here's my thought process (if I can convince DH to spend the $$ for 1 day of EP):
Day 1: Spend the morning and afternoon exploring the resort and others and enjoying the pool. This may be a good day for DH to get in a round of golf. I'm thinking we'll head into the parks late afternoon and just try to get our bearings, learn where things are, maybe see some shows. I did make a dinner reservation at Finnegans.
Day 2: Early Entry and do whatever we can.
Day 3: Thinking this would be a good day to use EP, as we'll hopefully know what rides we really want to do and have a good lay of the land by this point.
Day 4: Hit any highlights we want to re-do

Or - does it make more sense to just do what we can on Day 2 and Day 3 and save EP for our last day to ride to our hearts' content?

Really need to discuss this with DH, since he may want to golf more than once. Certainly don't want to buy EP for a day he won't be able to fully utilize it!

Thanks for any and all advice!

How many people will there be?

You need to price out a one night stay in one of the three hotels that gives express pass as a perk. Then you will have EP for two days. Probably cheaper than buying it as a stand alone during a holiday week for one day.

If buying express pass as a stand alone, don't buy it until you see how your park visit is going. A holiday week the EP price will go up to probably around $150 per person.

Hi I agree with skylock about looking into one of the deluxe hotels for the express pass. If you don't than wait to see if you need it.You get it for check in and check out day and I can tell you you will probably pay more for a family of 4 buying one day of the express pass at the park. You can put up to 5 in the deluxe hotels. You would all get express pass for the one night.

If you do get the one day express pass I would do it on the second or third day. If you are going to stay on site with the two day express pass then I would do day 3 and 4.

You wouldn't have to stay at the resort with the "throw away" room. You just have to check in to get your passes. We did this two summers ago and it worked out great. We stayed at Cabana bay for a week and did one night at Royal Pacific for two days express pass. We did go back to Royal pacific in the afternoon for a break and relax in the room. It is close to the parks. It is just an idea.

You are going at a real busy time and express pass with some early entry would help a lot.

Good luck!
