What is the best type of hat to wear in the Disney parks when its 90+ degrees and humid? I own a cotton bucket hat and a Mission cooling baseball cap but I worry that both of them will make me feel hotter. I got a sunburn once in my scalp so I don't feel comfortable wearing a visor or going without a hat.

I just wear baseball type caps. I don't feel any hotter with them than with anything else and I feel hotter when I don't wear one. I take a couple of them just because I have a bunch and like to switch them out.

I'm planning on bringing both a bucket hat and a baseball cap. Baseball cap works better for keeping the sun out of my eyes and keeping my head dry in the rain, at least until the downpours start. Bucket hat provides better coverage for the back of my neck and I'm less worried about it coming off on rides since mine has a drawstring meant to keep it on when it gets windy.

Try a bucket hat that isn’t cotton, something that is nylon, quick dry material, offering UV protection but lighter weight. I use a Lululemon one but most sports brands such as North face, Adidas, Nike, and Tilley also have them.

I use a cooling towel which really helps. There are cooling hats which do the same thing. You activate it with water. The towels remain effective for a couple hours before needing water again. Search for cooling hats on Amazon.
Also whatever hat you use make sure it is light colored.

Due to our summer trips being very sun exposed I wear straw hats which lowers the SPF needed, provides shade and air (if any) to flow. I’ve noted that a lot of woven hats are now made of paper and frequently tout the fabric material as recycled. Great idea but unfortunately don’t hold their shapes well or last long. Also not a big price difference between plant and pulp.

We just went last month and I wore a baseball cap. The day I didn’t wear it, was miserable!!!! I couldn’t believe it helped so much. It kept my face shaded and kept sweat from running down my face into my eyes.
