I just had to relate how happy I am that I sent my daughter, her recently married husband, and her nine and seven year old daughters to OKW for a five night vacation in a two bedroom villa. They are at WDW now and have told me how much fun they are having at the parks and at the resort.

They are in building 23, on the third floor looking right at the fountain that you see when you walk across the bridge near the hospitality house.

They are going to the parks about half the time and are staying at OKW the other half of the time. They have worked out in the gym, (Which has some nice new fitness equipment in it, my Son-in-Law who sells fitness equipment says.) They have eaten at Olivias, played bingo and fussball, swam in the main pool, enjoyed the slide, taken the boat to Downtown Disney, hung out in the Conch Flats general store, played all the games in the little game room, ordered and delighted in $160.00 worth of food from Garden Grocer, walked all around the grounds, and most of all, enjoyed every inch of the very roomy and homelike two bedroom villa.

My Granddaughters reported that they really appreciated the animal shaped folded towels that were left in the rooms and that they really like each having her own queen sized bed and a television in their own room.

I think this was, by far, the very best trip I have ever not taken! :lovestruc

Don't you love it??? I love those kind of stories!

I think this is absolutely wonderful that you did this for your daughter and her family. This is one of the reasons I bought my points. Hopefully someday I'll be able to do the same for my daughter and her family (that is if she ever gets married :confused3).

TVWALSH, You're right, it doesn't get any better than that. I guess after this, it's back to school for them, what a nice way to end their summer vacation!

Like you, I get such enjoyment from sharing my DVC.

Isn't it great to share DVC with our families? I see many years of happy vacations for you all! Thanks for sharing. :)

I think that's the same room we had this summer!! It was a great location.

I am really looking forward to this aspect of my DVC ownership. Because of scheduling conflicts, my oldest daughter couldn't join our Spring Break family trip this year. For Christmas, I gave her and her boyfriend a trip to WDW and paid for their Disney Dining Plan and his ticket (she had an AP). They stayed at the BCV and had a fabulous time - it was a trip they never would have been able to afford on their college-student budgets.

I can't wait to send them to HH or WDW - I told them that I would try to add on enough points (and really, I am almost there now) so that one daughter(and her guests or family) could go to HH for 5 nights in a 2BR in the summer
(165 points), and the other daughter (and her guests or family) could use some points for the same stay at WDW each year, depending on their schedules and preference (but a maximum of 200 points for a 5 weeknight stay in a 2BR during the highest season. Of course we would have to look at the actual calendars and adjust for weekend/holiday pricing, but that's pretty far in the future so forgive me if I'm just thinking out loud here!!). They could switch so each got a WDW vacation every other year and a Hilton Head beach vacation every other year. The third year I told them they could use 270 pouints and trade out somewhere through II.

I'd need 200+165+270 points to do this, or 635, and I have 430. So two more 100 point add-ons and I am there!!!! I'm planning on adding on 200 points at VWL anyway, so that might have to happen in the next couple of years.

I would still have points to do something myself - either join them at HH or WDW, or take a solo trip of my own if it suited my plans better.

Can't wait to have the chance to share WDW with grandchildren!!!

What a wonderful trip not taken! That is part of the reason that we bought into DVC as well....to share the magic! My BFF would never have gotten to go to WDW probably ever and we had a great time 2 weeks ago. We are looking forward to a grand gathering with DH's family in 2010 (we have to wait until my nephew is old enough!) and the family wouldn't have been able to go without us having DVC.

 How sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. I hope to do this for my kids one day too. My dd would love to be married at Disney ONE DAY.
