Hello! My DH and I are going on a road trip next month and will end in Anaheim. We would love to hear what others love to get in terms of treats and food/beverages in DTD and the DLR Hotels. We will be in the area, but WILL NOT be going to the parks. We do have reservations at Steakhouse 55 and Ballast Point. We don't get to hang out much in DTD when we go on our annual trip, so looking for any tips and advice! TIA:goodvibes

Sprinkles Cupcakes as far as treats go are pretty good. Also I tried Crazy Shakes last time I was out there. They're good but be warned they really do live up their name. I completely underestimated what I was getting into when I ordered one. Lots and lots of stuff, or at leas with the strawberry shortcake shake it felt like that. They're good just don't expect it to be anything like a normal shake.

Marcellene’s in Dowtown Disney has many of the same fresh treats sold in the parks (caramel apples, crispie treats, cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, etc) as well as packaged treats also found in the parks. Craftsman Grill I think it’s called now (formerly Whitewater Snacks) in the GCH usually has a few pretty good treats for sale unique to that location.

My absolute favorite treat in Downtown Disney is the beignets front Ralph Brennan’s (either Jazz Kitchen or Jazz Kitchen Express). They blow the Mickey beignets from Mint Julep Bar out of the park, in my opinion. We also love grabbing a treat from Marceline’s- so many yummy ones to choose from!

I second the Dole Whip with Rum.

The donuts at the coffee place at the DLH are pretty good (assuming they still have them...haven't stayed there in about a year).

We also like a lot of the goodies at Earl of Sandwich - brownie whoopie pies, peanut butter cup cookies, etc., plus the sandwiches are tasty.

Pretty much anything from Marceline's.

The former WhiteWater Snacks (GCH Craftsman Grill) has brownies and blondies that are yummy.

I LOVE Dole Whips....and I LOVE rum even more...however I am always woefully disappointed in this offering. It is made with a "splash of rum"...and it is literally just that...a "splash"...not even hardly a full shot and hardly even detectable taste wise IMO.

One of may favorite evening hangouts is the Napa Rose Lounge in GCH (it is first come fist serve) for adult beverages and appetizers and/or desserts

True, it's just a splash. I get the coconut rum, so it just adds a bit more flavor. 😊

While I haven’t had a chance to try this yet....the Ice Cream at Salt and Staw sounds awesome.

Funny, I was coming in to recommend it. I'm a Portlander, where Salt and Straw started, and we loooooove our Salt and Straw. My husband won't let me go when we're at DLR because "we can get that at home" but if you don't have one near you, it's 100% worth it to go in and try their flavors.

Salt and Straw is AMAZING. (Though I admit I've only been in Portland, lol).

My husband adores the churro ice cream sandwich, but I'm not sure if they are still offering that at the churro stand.

For actual food, we like the pizza and salad combo at Napolini and pretty much anything at Earl of Sandwich.

Its pretty much the same...just a name change. I had my favorite, the nachos, first time I went since the change... they cost a little more but were also a much larger serving than before too. But same relaxing atmosphere.

A month or so ago, we were walking past Wetzel's Pretzels when they were handing out free samples of "cinnamon and sugar pretzel bites" (or something like that). I was amazed how good they were. Very similar to a churro, but I think the pretzel version tastes better and provides a better value. I bought a bag three times over the remainder of my trip. I also tried the almond version of the bites, but didn't like them as much.

As a special bonus, after the bites are gone there is a tablespoon of sugar/cinnamon at the bottom of the bag, which is about as pure a "sugar fix" as you can get.

Crazy Shakes from Black Tap! I haven't been to the one at DTD yet but I went to the original Black Tap in NYC last year and the shakes are indeed crazy. And delicious. :-)
