Best Transportation options to AK and HS

Hello all,

We are doing our first Disney camping trip this March for spring break (19th - 22nd) , Actually the first tent camping trip ever for my kids. I have read a lot about the transportation to MK but how about HS and AK. Bus, Drive or Other?

Okay, usually this splits 50/50 when this question comes up. Several of us drive because it's faster (depends on traffic) while others take the buses (depends on luck).

My personal opinion is, I drove 12 hours pulling a 35 foot camper to there. I've dealt with other drivers, and I have a 12 hour ride back home to face. I've paid Disney not only for my stay and park entrance, but I paid for a bus driver and fuel and I intend to get it. So when at Disney, I let them drive. The only exception is if it looks like rain I'll drive to the overflow lot and park saving using the internal buses and getting as wet.

If you're trying to make rope drop then driving yourself may be your best chance.

Thats what I was thinking. We want to be there for the rope drop at HS but for AK it doesn't really matter so we may take the bus to avoid driving.

We enjoy the busses and Disney transportation. It's vacation and dh drives over an hour each way for work. We leave the driving to Disney.

it's been several years since the last time used buses, that was from the Value resorts and it was not a pleasant experience. We Normally park because it's either a day trip or we are staying off property, but with the camp site I am weighing my options.. I think we will Bus AK and Drive HS.

We are drivers. I've got an autistic teenager that freaks out about waiting for the bus, that pushes my anxiety up. We thought about trying the buses again for this trip since it's been a couple years but we want to go play mini golf after our AK day and after our HS we are heading home. So driving again.
