We are looking for the best option for Transportation from LAX. SN kiddo is 15 and on the spectrum. We will be flying from Chicago that day, so I think I am looking at something that gets us there directly. Any suggestions??

I used to be a member here a while ago but it has been 9 years since our last Disney trip.

one thing to remember is afternoon traffic between LAX and Disneyland. that trip can take a couple of hours on a bad day with no way of knowing that going in. also been years since I lived there. it looks like an easy trip but on a bad day it can be hours.

Have ypu already bought the tickets, or can you fly to a closer airport, like Long Beach or John Wayne? No personal experience, but searching indicates $250 plus, and that might just be one way.

Assuming that you are a party of 2 or 3? No boosters or car seats needed by anyone in your group? (CA law is pretty strict on this!) You have several options: Disneyland Express bus (neither owned nor run by Disney), Uber/Lyft (does not provide car seats or boosters), rental car (can be rented at LAX and dropped off at DLR since there are several major brand rental offices in the area), Lansky's Car Service (gets very good reviews on the DLR board -- can provide car seats and boosters -- includes a short stop for groceries on the way to your hotel). Agree with the pp that flying into SNA (John Wayne) or LGB (Long Beach) would be much closer to DLR than LAX, but often LAX has lower fares and more direct/non-stop flights. Try asking this on the Disneyland (California) forum -- that's the trip planning forum for DLR. You'll get lots of good help there!
ETA: Please come by to cruise the DLR board for updates and changes to the parks since your last visit. 9 years is a long time and things come and go so quickly around DLR!

I have had good experiences with Super Shuttle. They have an option to pay for a private shuttle that is just for your group that would take you directly to your hotel. It has a more reasonable price than a limo service. You do have to get your luggage from baggage and go outside to a pick-up but they were very prompt in picking us up. There are a number of private limo services if you have the budget for it.

This is a link to the Disneyland forum on these boards with a great deal of information. https://www.disboards.com/threads/a...nd-ground-transportation-information.2318297/

I also took Super Shuttle from LAX. It seeemed a bit on the slow side? But I don't have anything to compare it to, and given how heavy traffic was that day I'm not sure anyone else could have done better.

We are essentially adults in Disney's eyes. My mom, age 68, DH and I, 42 and 45, DD is 17 and DS is 15.

I took SuperShuttle both times I've been and it was fine for me, although for 3 people, it was quite expensive for a RT ride... and then I rented a car from Alamo around the corner from Disneyland.

If I were to do it again, I'd just rent a car from the airport and cut out the middleman. IIRC, it was $51/each RT and that was actually about half the cost of our rental for a week.

If you are comfortable driving in a large city, that might be your best bet. The worst is that you'll be essentially parked for two hours on the freeway, but that is going to happen whether you are driving or a Shuttle Service is.

That being said, if you are JUST doing Disneyland and walking to surrounding areas, then SuperShuttle might not be a bad idea for you. If you want the ability to go a little further out, like to the beach or Hollywood, renting a car might be the way to go.

We rented a town car service. That is what I would suggest, they pick you up at the airport and it is just your family.
