We’ve made many trips to Aulani, but always as a family and always renting a car. My amazing husband just offered to put me on a plane this coming Friday for a 3 night solo trip to Aulani while he takes care of the kids (I think he can tell that I’m pretty much ready to crack after 18 months of no travel 😂). I don’t want to rent a car for myself (and frankly I plan on having a couple of cocktails on the solo flight). What is the best transportation option to Aulani for a solo traveller? Are Uber and Lyft allowed to pick up at the airport? Is there a better cab or shuttle option?

Uber/Lyft are definitely allowed to pickup at the airport. There are also lots of taxis available. Charles Taxi has a flat rate ($45 IIRC) from the airport to Aulani.

I always take the Hele Hele Shuttle that’s listed on the Aulani website. It’s $24 one way or you can book round trip. They will meet you in baggage claim. Not sure how they are handling social distancing, but it should be on the website.

For others who may be interested, I wound up booking Hele Hele. Turns out that it’s $24 one way, but if you are a DVC or Marriott Vacation Club member, they waive the return fare so it is $24 round trip. Hard to beat that!!

Wow, who knew!!! Thanks for sharing. That's even cheaper than Waikiki roundtrip now!

Update on Hele Hele shuttle transfer:

-flight arrived early last Friday night, but I had a text from my “greeter” letting me know that she would meet me by the baggage claim on arrival. I texted back that we had arrived early, and she immediately responded that she was on her way. She grabbed my bags, walked me outside, put me in a Charley’s cab (solo) and gave him a $65 voucher for the fare. I must have been the only arrival around that time.

- my return flight was Monday night, and I got a voicemail Sunday afternoon reminding me that the shuttle would lick me up at Aulani at 7:15 the next evening. Well, at 7pm my phone rang and my driver let me know that he was waiting out front, next to the black Escalade! Again, solo ride back to the airport, this time in luxury. I must have been the only one travelling again.

All in all, the best $24 that I’ve spent! (Of course, I wound up tipping very generously, but still a great value!)
