Best to buy at K-Mart?

I've really not stepped foot inside a KMart in 10 years or so. None very close to me, and I shop at WlaMart and Target for such shopping. But, with their $25 prescription transfer coupon I am going to go out of my way to fill 3 scripts over there. So, I will have $75 gift card to spend. With a baby on the way and a 2 year old already, is Kmart a good place to stock up on pull-up's and diapers? What sort of good buys should I be looking for to spend the gift card?

Check their clearance kids clothes. Great Disney stuff for little money. (And hold up well.) That's where a lot of DC clothes come from.

I will say it, I LOVE Kmart!

I find that their prices on laundry and cleaning supplies to be the best.

wait until near Easter to spend those GCs, as $2 doubles will be back again. So using diaper and wipe coupons there will be worth double value.

Their prices on most things is similar to Walmart.

You can email Kmart customer service to see if your Kmart locations will be participating.

I noticed they had cereal for $2 this week. Maybe they have good food selections that are inexpensive. Some Kmarts have full groceries too. Also, the Kmart near me removed their grocery section and replaced it with a clearance store for Sears appliances. So if you need anything like that, you could put your $75 toward that.

I'd save the giftcards until their next $2 coupon doubling event. I make out like a BANDIT on those weeks and stock up on everything then!

Tell me about these $2 events? Do they double any and all coupons, or just a few? Like I know my local gocery will sometimes but in a coupon to redeem up to 5 manuf coupons at double, but no more than that 5 in one order.

When we did it our Kmart had a 20 coupon limit per person, so my mom, my husband and I each used 20 coupons or so. They will double coupons up to $2, so I had a 3.00 off Huggies all natural diapers, and they doubled 2.00 so $5.00 off.

However I will say that each Kmart seems to be different with their policies.

It's only 5 this time, per person per day. But if it's like last time, the register does the doubling and the cashier has zero control over it so they all double.

It's worth a shot to try 6 or 7 coupons and see what the register does and then go from there. Some stores are aware of this fact though and limit you to handing over only the limit of coupons which would require you to break up your order if you had other non-doubling coupons you wanted to use.

I need to check my coupon stash but I've been holding onto bogo halls cough drop coupons since last fall that I want to use for this event. (bogo's under $2 make both free!)

That must have been a manual override as $3 coupons are redeemed at face value. Says so right in the fine. Coupons with values up to $2 will double. Any coupon $2.01 and over are redeemed at face value.

$1 = $2
$1.50 = $3
$2 = $4
$3 = $3

so a $2 is worth more than a $3 coupon for this event.

I think K-mart giftcards can now be used at Sears and Landsend if that helps at all.

I'm trying to use mine towards a new vacuum.

Most competing pharmacies will take a competitor offer too, our CVS does it all the time and has a banner on the side of the building. When Walgreen opened I got $75 in CVS gift cards using a $25 Walgreen prescription coupon. Kroger was matching the deal too.
