I am trying to decide if I should plan my vacation for my family in early November 2004 (before the Thanksgiving rush) or the first week of December. I will have a 9 and 6 year old and my husband and 6 year old will not tolerate waiting in long lines for attractions. I have been the first week of Dec in 2000 and loved the fact that there were no lines to wait in, however, it was a little colder than I had hoped for. If that early part of Nov. is still just as slow as early Dec, I thought the weather may be more enjoyable, especially for swimming. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the DIS!

The crowds should be small during both times, but I think early December is *extra* magical. The World is all lit up and decorated for Christmas, and you can enjoy the holiday extras like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and the Candlelight Processional!

Welcome to the DIS!!!!!! I hope you enjoy it here!!!

I have to agree with Kathy... I've gone to WDW during that time and I love it!!!

Welcome to the DIS:wave2:

I also agree with KathyTX and Helenabear that the first week of Dec. is a great time to go:D

Welcome to the DIS!

We always gone anywhere from mid-October to just after Thanksgiving. With the exception of Thanksgiving, it's always been good for us and Thanksgiving was just crowded. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas is supposed to be very good, too.

Have a great time.

We have been early Dec 4 times and once late Sept early Oct. Dec is great! Short lines, the rates are usually lower, the weather in most cases is nice. It could be warm it could be cold, be prepared for both. CP and MVMCP are going full blast along with all the Christmas decorations up.

For myself I like right before thanksgiving. Not crowded and the weather is just beautiful. You''ll have fun no matter what time of the year you go. Hope I helped a little bit :D

There's always a week in early November that WDW is full of New Jersey people. We get 2 or 3 days off in early Nov. for teacher's convention, so a lot of families take trips that week. And, of course, WDW is a popular destination. Unfortunately I don't know when NJEA (teacher's convention) week is for next school year yet. Maybe someone else does? I'd avoid that week, if possible.

We've visited WDW the second week in December several times and we love it then! The crowds are almost non-existant, the Christmas decorations are great and we always do some Christmas shopping while we are there. It's my favorite time of year to go.

If I were to go again in the cooler weather, I would go the Sunday after Thanksgiving and stay for the following week. I don't know it that would be the last week in Nov or the first week in Dec. Guess it would depend on when Thanksgiving is. The weather wouldn't be as cool as later in the month of Dec and the crowds haven't built up for Christmas yet, but you still have the Christmas decorations and shows.

If you've already been there to see Christmas, I suggest you go the last week of October. The Halloween party is GREAT! The kids will LOVE it. There are two good times of the year that everyone needs to visit at least once and that's Christmas time and Halloween. DH and I honeymooned there and our first day was Halloween day. We were practically just walking right on the the rides and we got to ride Splash Mountain twince in a row...without having to get off. The CM just asked us if we wanted to stay on. Mickey's Not so Scarey Halloween Party is good too. The park closes at like 5 or 6 but if you have your ticket to the party, they let you stay in. So while everyone else in the park is leaving, you get to stay and play. And the people with tickets who weren't in the park before it closes don't get to come in until 7. It's the same thing with the Christmas party, but in October it's still pretty warm, the crowds are still small and I think it's a lot more fun.
