Looking to visit WDW this fall and trying to avoid a time when the weather is extremely hot! We haven't visited in the fall but heard it's pretty hot in the September. How are October and November for weather? Also is the fall busy in the parks? Is it considered a peak time to visit?

We go every year in late October and have encountered great weather and low crowds. The temperature and humidity can be somewhat unpredictable though. We've had days where the morning and early afternoon required a sweatshirt as well as days when we began we sweat as soon as we stepped out of our room. All in all though, I've found the weather to be very comfortable!

To avoid the peak times, avoid dates around major holidays. The week of Thanksgiving is a no-no, but the week after is excellent. Same goes for the week before!

If you're trying to avoid excessive heat/humidity, I'd suggest going in November.

I've been several times in October, and it has varied from year to year. I've experienced:

1) warm weather (upper 70s to low 80s -- very pleasant!)
2) hot and humid weather (mid to upper 80s)
3) very hot and humid weather (upper 80s/low 90s and very humid)
4) unbearably hot and humid weather (mid to upper 90s and very humid)

All within the month of October! You just never know from year to year what it will do, so I always assume it will be really hot if I go in October.

We were there for 10 days this past October and the weather was perfect. There seemed to be more adults in the parks at this time of year...The Food & Wine Festival is a BIG attraction in itself. With that said, if you want to enjoy some TS meals at your favorite restaurants be sure to make ADR's. It was just DH and me on this trip so we did not make any ADR's...huge mistake!!! We had a big problem getting any decent TS meals. Even the restaurants that we do not particularly care for were completely booked. Most attractions were little to no wait...everyone was too busy eating.:rotfl2:

DH and I have been several times in September (2nd week) for our anniversary. Very low crowds but it is still HOT!. We've also been several times in October with the kiddos and it's not as hot BUT. . .we've noticed a dramatic increase in crowd levels the week before and the week after Columbus day. 7-8 years ago not crowded at all. Last year was super crowded. I would guess it's because schools have fall break one of those 2 weeks. We also took one trip sans kiddos the week before Halloween and it was perfect! Low crowds and great weather. The only drawback is that seasonal only eateries are not open and Disney usually does refurbs and such at lower crowd times.

We like to go between the F&WF and Thanksgiving. The crowds are tiny. The F&WF does not make all the parks super busy, but Epcot can get packed and it’s our favorite park and the one we spend the most time in so we try to avoid it.

The weather at that time can be hit or miss, but generally we have really nice weather. Almost all of our trips have been end of October thru mid November and I can probably count on one hand all the days we have had with rain. A couple of times it got cooler, but mostly at night and nothing to severe. Only once did it get cold and it was like a freak thing for FL especially at that time of the year. The majority of the time it is warm to hot with low humidity. Even at night we are still in shorts and tanks.

We go during Columbus Day week - crowds are a little worse (for October) but manageable. The weather is hot, but not miserable. I hear it usually cools down around Halloween, on average.

I agree with PP going after FW and before Thanksgiving is the purfect time. Weather is great, crowds are low. Oct can be extremely hot and humid but Nov is just right.
