Best time to ride Crush's Coaster and ToT

We haven't been to DLRP since Crush's Coaster and ToT opened and we're going to be there next week, from Tuesday 26th - Friday 29th August. :) This is during French term time but still English summer holidays. So the prices are a bit cheaper and we assume the parks will be SLIGHTLY less busy than they have been during the rest of the summer.

I have heard that the queues for Crush and ToT are VERY long - and unfortunately the FP trial for Crush ends before our trip. Does anyone who has been recently know when is the best time for both of these rides? I would be really disappointed if we didn't get to go on them at least once, as this is likely to be the last DLRP trip for a number of years.

Is it best to be first in the queue in the morning, or try in the evening before the park closes? Or maybe during a parade/show?

Best time for Crush is very early in the morning (According to all the trip reports I've read).

ToT I think has fastpass but someone will correct that if I'm wrong ;)

Indeed it does.

I'd say either first or last thing - neither are perfect though, as first thing involves a mad sprint, while last thing may not be a short queue after all...

Yes, ToT has f/p.

As for crush, if you're not there at the very front of the queue for the studio at opening and run to the ride queue, it'll be a 60+ minute wait all day long. We never saw it go under that...I think you'll just have to accept it.

Yep that's exactly what we did back in Feb. As soon as the gates opened my daughter ran all the way to crush and waited in line for me. We plan to do exactly the same in October.

Will be there the same time as you Bonnie, might bump into each other.

I'm hoping it'll be slightly quieter than what i've seen these past couple of weeks there. Looking forwards to Crush's and ToT for the first time.

How you travelling?

Thanks everyone for the tips. :thumbsup2 We'll be sure to make a dash for it on one of the mornings. Now then, is Wednesday, Thursday or Friday likely to be quietest? ;)

squizz, we are travelling by Eurostar to Paris on the Tuesday, then catching the RER to DLRP. :) How about you?

I'm going Eurostar direct from Ashford straight to Disney.
I don't know the term-times, but if the French kids are back at school it means wednesday afternoon will get busy, as the french kids have it off.
Otherwise, this is the first time i've been in August. I usually go for March or October.

We ran in the crushes coaster Olympic event last week ,it involves a sprint though studio1 ,both times we made it on the ride before 10.30 so not bad going my DD headed the field and nabbed us a place as she was the quickest :rotfl: TOT is easy to do with fast pass we went on 3 times the normal queue didn,t look to bad but we never tried it

We got to the Studio gates for 9am and even then we weren't amongst the first there. Once the gates opened it was a mad dash to Crush for most people, first time we got on there were queue jumpers (mainly they hung around the front and then just dived in) and the ride broke down within 5 minutes but was up and running again within 25 minutes so we stuck it out. We managed to ride twice, well worth doing (the fast pass trial had ended before we arrived on July 30th) but I think they may have to start doing something about the long wait times, it never seemed to go below 75 minutes when we were there.

Unfortunately, I don't know what they can do... Fastpass only helps psychologically and there's no space for a second track. I also can't see there being much success a single rider queue to fill the empty seats, as I can't see people wanting to use this too often at Disney, plus they insist on loading from the far side - even disabled people have to go through a secret tunnel to reach the loading side of the track.

Until they build something bigger and better for families, then I don't think the Crush queue is going to improve a great deal (not during the summer anyway). The queues are tolerable in the quiet winter season and I guess the demand should die down a bit as it gets older, but I personally see the Crush's queue being rather long for a long while to come yet.

There is never a good time for crush e.g.

Even if you wait at the studio gates for opening and are on by 10.30 that's still well over an hour waiting, and the best time to be in the magic kingdom (EMH).

I didn't rate crush that much, and was sad I lost 90 minutes of time for a very short and over rated ride.

ToT on the other hand is brilliant! And does have a fastpass. :)

I quite enjoyed crush's. It was quite different to most coasters and felt very well themed. However as others have said the queue(even in Jan when it was quieter) rarely went below 55-60 mins. We did the rush from the front gate bit and rode it that way and queued once also. the main problems being 1. no fast pass and 2. its a ride based around a kids movie but isnt really a ride designed for younger children. we had ALOT of people removed from the queue because their kids were to small etc.

As for tower of terror. It has fast passes and seems to go through riders quite fast also so even though the line gets long its never that bad. Plus during certain times like parades, moteurs show, etc its lines are quieter.

oh and because you're there for weekdays in general you will find it quieter. even though its still british summer holidays.

I would just say to ride Crush get to the Studios prior to opening, around 9ish i would say then leg it when the park opens. Hopefully if you can run very fast you wont have to wait too long to ride it.

CM walked everyone slowly when we were there. Saldy they didn't do good morning Studios but that had the benefit of allowing everyone to queue up at ToT, RnR or Crush before opening at 10.00am. Or in the case of DD6 to be 2nd in the queue for Cars :goodvibes
In the case of Crush the CM then walked the queue through the line; ensuring that no one jumped the rope, at exactly 10.00am. We walked off at 10.25am :)

indeed :(
got there for opening ( 10am ,didnt know they allowed you in earlier ! ) but was already a mile long queue ,then 75 mins at least, all day :(

TOT we fastpassed,got a 11.30-12pm slot i think
went on the tram tour while we waited, as had never done that before :)

Hi, we are headed to DLP this Friday :goodvibes , and I was just wondering if anybody could verify whether the proposed fastpass tests for Crush's Coaster 18/08-24/08 are actually taking place? Would be really pleased if I could avoid the initial dash and just pick up some fastpasses first thing instead :thumbsup2
