best time to go?

We just got back from a fabulous first trip home and of course I am already planning our next trip back :wizard:

While I love F&W, it was bloody hot! Combine hot with unusually crowded and that makes for a small bit of crankiness.

Can anyone suggest both the best month for more comfortable weather along with the lowest crowds?

Mid-January to mid-February (avoiding holidays) is pretty low crowds and cooler and less humid temperatures.

You're lucky you can choose your time.

We're stuck going during school vacations. Feb. is great because there is no snow in Fl and April is nice because the temp is just right.

I have never been "bloody hot" in March at WDW. Toward the end of March is my Spring Break. I don't think it's particulary crowded then,(as long as it's not around Easter as it was this year, so we didn't go this year) but we don't ever spend whole days in the parks. We do like to relax at the resorts.

In '09 Disney has Flower and Garden starting in March, actually it will be happening when we're there for Spring Break. That's just great. Most every year I do take a May trip specifically for Flower and Garden, so next year, I'll be there twice for that beautiful event.

We enjoyed the beginnin of May too but it was really hot. We went May4th and it was at least 90 degrees every day.

We were there the end of January and the beginning of February this year. It wasn't crowded at all until the Mardi Gras crowd started to arrive in February. We actually were cold our first few days there and had to wear our jackets. It was warm and humid after that, but we aren't used to humidity being that we're from California.;)

Thanks everyone! :thumbsup2 I think we are going to aim for the first week in Feb 2010. So long to wait but I know it will be here before I know it! Maybe we will see some of you there :grouphug:

My thoughts exactly about the "bloody hot"! I just got back last week, we were there from the 9th through the 12th. I'll NEVER go again in October. It was BRUTAL, and I think it really killed off the magic. We have a trip booked for the middle of January - the 11th through 16th. I'm so ready to try the parks in the colder weather! I'm hoping we'll need jackets and maybe even a scarf! I have so much more energy in the cool weather, my only concern is rain. Hopefully this will be our favorite time of year!
My kids are in two different colleges and the only time they are off together is from Dec 20 to Jan 19th (ish), each year, so if this works well, I'll be booking same time for next year too!
